I'm sure after having their fingers burnt with the Richards saga where people were expecting him to go for millions they decided they didn't want to take the risk of missing out on free cash again. No win situation for them. If they cashed it in and he got sold they lose because they get slated. If they'd have waited and he ran down his contract and they got nothing then people would have been up in arms that they didn't sell the clause.

He actually said new signings before the blackpool game. At no point did he mention cash signings. Loan window open. Free signings window open. For those thinking we can't bring more players in I suggest you disregard Mr Dunn's advice and play a little more football manager
-
Didnt think we would be signing anyone.
Not like we need a striker is it.
This owner is royally taking the p1ss.
The independent article was absolutely spot on by the way, all these locusts are interested in is the LAND!!
CAN SOMEONE TELL THE OWNER I WOULD RATHER WATCH DECENT FOOTBALL IN A 3 SIDED STADIUM THAN THE UTTER DROSS SERVED UP IN A 4 SIDED STADIUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A 4 sided stadium with virtually no one in it next season in the bottom tier of the football league, a place we have been destined for years under his/ their embarrassing owenership.
Zzzzzzzz

I reckon he is as frustrated as the rest of us, and resigned to the fact we are not signing anyone!
Matt Chambers sounds as desperate too!
Plenty free agents that would do a job. I'm happy to wait and trust

I remember when we beat them 1-0 away. Duxbury? Near end. Sure they were unbeaten for ages before
-
Or a certain Clarke-Harris?!
I'd fill my pants if he came back ha
-
Just mentioned on LP some big big names were apparently very close to signing but can't obviously say who

Wrong thread

Imagine if we bet Blackpool twice and Shrewsbury.....!
I've been tasting coffee much of the morning.
Laced with something stronger?

Yes you are correct.
The stand doesn't have facilities for fans including seats, concourses and refreshment stands. It also doesn't have themed bars or a club shop.
No benefit.
Apart from it is shaped like a stand and is built like a stand and looks like a number of other new stands at other clubs.
But yes, nothing to do with the club. May as well had built that structure on some waste land elsewhere in Royton, nowhere near a football pitch. I'm sure people would still buy season tickets and visit the bars to pay for overpriced beer.
????? hahahaha

More chance of Oscar Pistorious sprouting real legs and running out of prison
Which is also more likely than Hank Kingsley not turning a comment into "dunn was the saviour"
-
It's a tall order but I think we can all get behind the club attempting to get through a whole 12 month period without doing a single thing that results in oafc0000 crawling out from under his rock.....

Neil Joy spoke well. Which you would expect of a clever fella. Defo dodged and never answered some of the questions raised rather skirted round them.
For me the tone of his answers came from the very first question and wasn't taken to task about the magnitude of the problem the caller was trying to allude to. The question was really what have Latics left to attract a new investor/owner. Meaning when TTA took over they not only had a football club lock stock and barrel, but land, and lots of it.
Now the new investor must come in with no land and stands not owned by the club. Joy just skirted around this major point, stating about having a 20 year lease (is it that long now?) from a landlord (TTA) Who also own the only money making stand at the club. Oh and the brand name. Come on Neil, say it like it is, it's not very attractive to plough millions into a club that needs millions and be at the mercy of TTA wanting 10lbs of flesh.
What land do other clubs in our division own round their stadiums? I bet there are a lot that dont own any in the area round. Bradford for we ample last week. Surely they only own the ground. Nothing round it apart from houses
-
Surely the point is Spurs appear to have invested that money wisely and become a better team as a result. Will the same be true of us?
We shall see. Hopefully we will do though

I asked the question about Philli leaving. Wag must have just decided to ignore the bit I mentioned about it being against Dunn's wishes.(Plus 4 other ignored questions)
The question was answered though and it covered being against Dunn's wishes without mentioning it. The club made the decision it was the right deal. Do you think Spurs manager wanted Bale to go Madrid? Massively different transfer fees but if it benefits the club which they believe it did they accept. If someone offers a million for Kelly tomorrow do you think they'll ask Shez or will they see it as helping the club financially?
-
I thought that was one of the better answers. He was playing as a midfielder, we had too many. We had two strikers returning from injury so they felt it was right.
Open and honest.
Too logical for these who hate everything about the club
-
He's been allowed to be a smarmy :censored:er.
The worst questions I've heard in one of these things. Second bottom, a laughing stock and nothing said to ruffle feathers.
Not been able to listen but looking at the questions posted here I'd say that most of the things people moan about have been asked and answered without skirting round the issue. What exactly should he say?
-
yes
Cheers. I can't listen unfortunately. Anything about whether permanent or loans? Anything about any going other way?
-
They said defo 3 or 4 before blackpool?
-
Why exclude corners? You've got to be attacking to win the corners/free-kicks in the first place.
Because that ruins his argument
-
Love my view from top tier
-
Can't believe people are saying no different to Dunn performances. We tried attacking for the full game. Kelly missed a header from 1 yard out after great work by Forte. Jones free kick pulled a great save from the keeper. Etc etc. We did look like scoring
-
Can't believe someone on here said Dieng looked solid. Cheers. Not laughed like that in ages
-
Dross from start to finish. Utter awful! I think today (especially with shrewsbury winning), pretty much confides us to an impossible challenge!
Only decent shout out is for that Palmer, looked great!
If you're saying that was dross and utter awful what have you been watching all season? Finally we've attacked a team for the majority of the game. Some people amaze me
