Perhaps she was referring to the less salubrious parts of town? Of which there are many.
....or just incorrectly generalising?

She's not wrong. The place is a absolute dump.
It is that bad that you can't buy a house for love or money in certain parts of the borough....try Uppermill for example....a house in Lydgate has just sold for £5 million.....it has a top independent school ...9 thriving Cricket clubs........

There are a worrying lack of leaks about the takeover, and now this raid...
Without any knowledge whatsoever on my part is there any possibility that it is Abadullah in whom they are interested ?

And your source for such inflammatory information is?
I was informed at 2.30 today but posted nothing until club statement. As the press would say " sources close to the club"

Serious Fraud Office also in attendance . 8 in Club office and 6 in OEC

Meat is a very non-descript term. As someone who hasn't eaten a pie at Latics (or any football ground for that matter) for a few years I probably shouldn't comment further.
That pie you have not eaten for a few years will probably still be available a week on Saturday ?

The catering in the stadium is "mainly vegetarian". I think the players have been known to have a cheeky Gregg's steak bake.
You don't there is real meat in the pies at BP surely?

All heritage was new and created at one point - it becomes heritage when enough time, connection and affection has happened.
Blue / White / Tangerine is now, in various ratios, our heritage.
I bet you like me could say what colour the other 91 teams play in? .....I bet supporters of the other 91 teams could answer the same question about us and 100% would say blue and white
I don't know about you but I could not tell you the away shirt colour of anybody we have not played this season......I have no objection whatsoever ( indeed the opposite) to playing in tangerine away but I would not describe it as our heritage and I would not want our heritage to be defined by a crooked past chairman's actions......we are not Ausitralians!
-
We played in tangerine because that was the colour of Ken Bates cement wagons at the time.......not really our heritage

yeah that would be a great idea putting a youngster with an attitude and work rate problem in the team that has great cohesion at the moment why do you think hes still out on loan at a non league club having left the previous one under a cloud
Doing ok though ( assuming he played) .....They won1-0 away at league leaders today......we lost to the leaders of that league about this time last year

I'm not sure of the point you are making to the one person who said it was ridiculous to make such claims about Placide?
The point I am making is that a goalkeeper , like a wicketkeeper, can absolutely influence a teams approach , pace of attacking and yes potency ......and so too can a centre half captain...........and in both cases the influence can be to increase or diminish certain aspects including attacking potency

That comment smacks of someone looking to blame him no matter what he does. We've missed chance after chance in the last 2 games while looking solid at the back. Gardner was missing from midfield in one of those games but we still attempted to play football. If we had beaten Wimbeldon 4-0 nobody could have complained and we were a goal line clearance away from 3 points today.
To blame one central defender for lack of potency is ridiculous.
.....but to credit one goalkeeper with increasing our potency isn't equally ridiculous ? ......of course it isn't .

Top marks to Gerrard. He's come back into the side and we've stopped leaking silly goals...
Fair comment.....but to accommodate his strengths and weaknesses have we also gone a bit deeper and also play the ball forward a bit earlier and longer than we were doing and are therefore less potent going forward

Could very well be mind-games. When our pitch turned rubbish at the back end of last season, Gerrard and Clarke looked like the best CB partnership in the league.
If our pitch turns rubbish this season, I expect Clarke and Gerrard to play together at CB again.
Sshhhh!.......don't make any reference to a deteriorating pitch.....people on here get very upset

If our goalie wastes time like that, they are booked much sooner for some reason and then 6 or 7 minutes is added on, not 4.
I hate all time wasting, but it seems acceptable now and time is supposedly added on to compensate. It's the time wasting that frustrates fans and it should be stamped out of the game. If I were a ref I would go into each dressing room before the game and give them a warning. Players walking off slowly would be booked and if they continued to walk slowly, or run slower than they walk, they would receive a red card and no sub would be allowed on. Goalkeepers should be booked on their first attempt to waste time and sent off if they do it again.
Yes we all hate time wasting but if we. Are winning 1-0 with a minute to go on Saturday I will be furious if one of our players runs off upon being substututed

Was taken out of the rule book after it was controversially applied in the 2012 women's Olympic tournament semi finals. It's now "referee's discretion". (i.e. never)
Thanks for that ....that had passed me by
So if goalkeeper lies on the ball and it is still in play there is very little that can /will be done about it

I'd say so.
He looks right back to being the very good player we'd seen previously now. Hard to see him giving his place up.
I can't see Clarke being too happy about it though.
As professional as you'd imagine he'd be he'll also want to be playing regularly in what might be his last season.
His high level of fitness might drop away very quickly at his age if he's not playing every game and he might never get it back...
On the other hand he might now do a Lockwood and just come in and be immense every time he's called upon....
Clarke was given a 2 and half contract in January? .....so unlikely to be his last season?
