  1. Brutal but If we're looking to avoid yet another Relegation Scrap these are my thoughts:

Both Forte and Poleon have had more than enough time and are injury prone - Out

Cassidy, Murphy and Turner simply not strong enough - Out

Thiele offers nothing at all from the few times he has played - Out

Look to retain / sign both Aaron Holloway and Curtis Main

Coleman has been excellent in recent games and definitely should be retained / signed

Brown and Mills are not good enough - Out

Both B Wilson and J Wilson whilst having some decent performances are prone to errors - Out

Not sure about Holmes-Dennis as he looks decent going forward but weaker as a defender

Gerrard has made a real difference at the back and Dieng is much improved so we should try and retain / sign

Edmundson is worth more time as is Dummigan

Midfield needs a massive sorting out

Would be great to get Matt Palmer back but he wont be leaving Championship Football in a rush

Kelly should still get in the team

Like Lee Croft and he has done well the last few games but keeping him must be conditional to him improving his fitness

Jones for me has struggled all season and Carl Winchester except for the odd game is too weak against the better teams in the League - Out

Saying all that, am confident JS will 'weave his magic' and get us in that top 10 next season but even he can't be expected to do it without significant player changes

  2. Lot of knockers about us not scoring today :deal:

For the record, Burton have conceded only 31 goals in 38 games, the best record in the League and no coincidence that puts them at Top of the League

Thought it was an all round great team effort today at the League Leaders and it's easy to pick out a few mistakes by individual players over 93 minutes.

Another clean sheet with the whole of the team defending reasonably well, with the Coleman save being the icing on the cake

Confidence increasing about staying up particularly with our 'games in hand' :OASISscarf:

  3. For me we have played the last two games with at least a player short

Forte for both the Blackpool and Rochdale games hasn't showed even a spark of commitment or enthusiasm. He just hugs the line and doesn't make any runs until the ball has been played. No anticipation at all and what has happened to his pace and trickery !! Was really disappointed he made the team yesterday

Palmer and Kelly were swamped in midfield by a tenacious Rochdale who were clearly up for the game, having only lost one in their last 6 Games having smashed both Sheffield United and Bury. Sadly the lack of depth in our squad was again painfully highlighted yesterday as clearly we had nothing on the bench at all to counter their midfield

Holloway was superb again, thought Main worked hard and Gerrard our best defender by some way. Personally I think Dieng whilst making a few errors is continuing to improve and Holmes-Dennis had a nervous but decent first game for us

Don't get at all what Thiele brings to the game and Jones like Forte is a shadow of the player we saw last year

  4. Don't understand the 'knocking' of Main at all

His work rate is exceptional, helping to create space and with it opportunities for other players going forward

His pairing with in particularly Holloway is the most 'aggressive' and positive we have had for some time

Confident that Goals will come from both of them

Don't know how JS got Matt Palmer cos he is the best midfielder we have by a mile

Bringing Holloway Main and Palmer to the Club was a master stroke by JS

  5. Our pitch is already in poor condition and attempting to play on it this afternoon could possibly have made it unplayable for the rest of the season

Blackpool on Tuesday 15th is our next Home game which gives the Ground Staff much needed time

Including todays rescheduled game, we have 6 to play at Home and it'll be at Home that decides our League status for next season

All things considered, to be honest, I cant smile wide enough that it's off :OASISscarf:

  6. Two players stood out today for me being Joel Coleman who made 3 good saves and Matt Palmer who was outstanding particularly in the 2nd half

In the last 6 games we've conceded only 4 goals which shows our defensive play as a team is much improved, even more impressive when you take into account 2 of the sides were 2nd place Wigan (banging goals in against everyone) and 3rd place Gillingham.

We're playing much better, player confidence is growing and 5 of the 7 games in March are ganes we can win

  7. A Saturday 'Away Day' after our first 'Back to Back' Win for what seems a lifetime should see over 1000 travel to Scunthorpe and I wouldn't be surprised if we take over 1400

Feeling much better now about getting out of the Relegation places which seemed an impossibility before JS returned

Great Loan Signings have really made a BIG difference
