Legend? Mmmm "a popular myth of recent originthe legend of the Loch Ness monster" FANTASY!!!! Bunn played with good players and did well but Legend no bloody way. Palmer Ritchie Fryatt Shaw Groves fit that bill
Never understood the obsession with bringing back ex players or ex players as managers simply because played for us once. Cant for the life of me grasp how suddenly Bunn is the answer to the question because Barry who it appears most people deride casually is now reported to be helping AL choose yet was virtually run out of club by the pitchfork carriers for forgetting his trust role and being up Corney's backside. Yet suddenly the Messiah from Grotton as a key adviser how on Earth could that happen? No disrespect to Barry just a weird turn of events and perhaps a stupid decision in itself as will alienate many.
Anything that links the club to past regime is likely doomed to failure as got it wrong daily for years and the axe wielding then starts to look a bit grasping at straws. Bunn IF it is him deserves a chance to succeed, even credit for being willing to try given the recent press, or is he himself desperate for a job? but in your heart can you really see that inspiring ex fans back to club. Some appear to have very quickly adjusted to accepting we are at a level that fits. Perhaps reflecting the negativity of Oldham as a town itself. 92 managers jobs so why the hell should we not expect a decent manager.
Unless the team is winning week in week out its very unlikely to draw back lapsed fans. Badge clutching, fan clapping, bannana rating, players tweeting mouthy shite wont do it RESULTS the only way. Even if the football isn't spot on results are king. IF Bunn can start with a blank sheet of paper use youth and get those results bloody good luck as he will have worked hard. When you think back Evansgate plunged us from hopefuls to laughing stock and wasn't Barry a huge part of that care in the community fiasco. We have never recovered from that moment and the statement about no statement bollocks.
I would love to know but never will what the directors actually brought to the club financially during Corneys reign now it appears AL is looking out of his depth but unlucky as it is Wellens and the shower of shite on the pitch that simply wasnt good enough to a man TEAMWORK not reasonably talented individuals who pass the blame.
Interesting view on Fryatt (who I loved incidentally) given he played less games for us than Bunn and at a lower level. He scored more though granted.

Aye, more or less the same age as Bob Paisley when he took his first managerial role, let’s right him off before he’s started eh.

Can't see he's done much wrong.
Well he hasn’t has he. We’re a League 2 side without (it appears) a pot to piss in but some of our fans expect the likes of Grayson or Scholes to rock up delighted at the fantastic opportunity presented to them. Instead we end up with what was more realistic, somebody without significant managerial experience or a European Cup to their name, like er Frizzell or Royle, or alternatively Darren Kelly. We have no idea what we’re getting with Bunn but let’s give the bloke a fucking chance eh?

You’re usually right but I’m not betting 6 grand on it ?

Lump on Frank Bunn...
He’s 1/6 on skybet so will have to be a hell of a lump.

1/2 now reckon somebody put a full tenner on it. We’ve had shorter prices than that not get the job in the past mind.

Is is common knowledge that Scholes met the board yesterday, I was over hearing a chat in the Farraras ?
The Farraras, sounds like the Grasscroft version of a Rio slum. I don’t know if it’s common knowledge but he’s in to 2/1 from 5’s on BetVictor.

Reckon it might be Keith Curle - turned down new contract at Carlisle and replaced by Shez. Has a nice circularity to it.

If Leroy Sane’s not good enough for the Germany squad we might as well give them the trophy now and cut out a month’s worth of pain.

Cantona in their 5-2 win at BP. Typing that is painful.

Trying to get back to the coach after the game was "interesting" to say the least!
You’re lucky, me (10 at the time) and my 40 year old dad were threatened with knives in their main stand paddock. There were thousands there from Oldham but not much in the way of segregation!

Sterling isn’t far off
Considering he didn’t even look League 1 standard when Liverpool played At BP a few years back he’s come a long way. I would (through gritted teeth) put Kyle Walker up there too.

Arnold is too young and hadn't played one game for England despite being a Liverpool player all year, why not play him in a friendly? he will be a star in 2 years...
Crouch has a better record
I suspect he will play a friendly before the World Cup ?
I’d have picked Crouch if only to man mark Fellaini at set pieces when we need to avoid defeat against Belgium to qualify.
-
Alexander-Arnold is going to be a star and no problem with him going, Welbeck’s scoring record for England compares well with most. The other two I’ll give you.
-
Assuming the mystery removal was Ray Wilson I think you’re ok to mention it now. Ex Latic and World Cup winner - you may never see those words in the same sentence again. RIP

Grayson is off to Scunthorpe. Could Salford come calling for wellens? They've parted company with their current managers, he played for em for a bit under Nev and Co.
3 promotions in 4 years and binned. Mad.

I remember Danny Bergara at Stockport many moons ago.
Are you suggesting foreign managers are unlikely to be successful at L2 level? If you are, highlighting one who was may not be helping your point.

Since he’s since taken Motherwell to a Scottish cup final that may have been an astute judgement.
