  1. What the fuck do we do now? Sack Mellon - justifiable after 1 win in 14. But it’s another hit to the budget and the new guy has a lot of same problems with the squad. Keep him- and he’s alienated a lot of players here for next season, they just aren’t playing for him. He signs more older heads (which is what good looks to him) and I’ve no faith we are a few players short of complete turnaround. What a mess. Honestly don’t know where we go from here.
  2. Can you elaborate Lukers. About what? Effort, desire, professionalism?
  3. I’ve been literally watching paint dry today, as I need to put another coat on the wall before Monday- it’s been my best Saturday for ages.
  4. That’s fine. What is your solution? The football is poor, the results are terrible. Are we special case, where we say- the number one thing is continuity - it must come above results. If we do that, the manager effectively gets a free pass. What you want is understandable but totally unrealistic. I was responding to the above when I saw this. I get it mate. It’s awful. Can understand why you feel that way, we all need a break.
  5. Guy- no one loves failing, no loves the fact we are shit. No one loves the fact we go on long winless runs. No one advocates that sacking the manager will definitely bring success. The manager has told us numerous times that this summer will be difficult, he’s told us his hands are tied. That means a lot are here next year. We can’t sack 20 players. He’s won 1 game in 14. What do you want? Blind loyalty just to say we’ve stuck with a manager???
  6. I saw the sense in giving him the summer, not anymore- there’s too many under contract who haven’t performed under him, and 1 in 14 win is pathetic.
  7. Lads. . Say what you want. Dissect what you want. He’s won 1 game in 14 - and any manager at any football is under massive pressure with that return.
  8. Yeah, and the players. (Responding to grief from fans) He said it the other week as well. I’m not saying it’s right and wrong, but when our lot turn it only ends one way. No manager should be without pressure with one win in 14.
  9. I’m not saying this is right or wrong, but I’m absolutely convinced now that Mellon is going- either by resigning, mutual consent or sacked. He and the players telling fans to fuck off only ends one way.
  10. Someone Twitter has put- Nors wanted out in Jan because he was moaning about his deal, and wanted his win bonus putting in his base salary because we weren’t winning enough games, and wanted his taxi’s to and from Leeds paying because he’s banned from driving. Maybe it’s bollocks, but that’s a detailed thing to make up.
  11. I’d slightly disagree on the service point Dave, Mikey creates stuff on his own with his physique and battering ram style. Nors isn’t that player and plays on the shoulder more, he is looking for the little through balls, and needs service more than Mikey. But, overall - yeah very similar records in MPG.
  12. From the BBC website- League only. This doesn’t include today. Nors 17 in 40 games MPG 184 Mikey 7 in 31 games MPG 210 After today that will come down for Mikey.
  13. He was taking the piss, he’s scored 10 goals this season and contributed far far more than a lot of them - but will get released . .
  14. Yeah, agreed. Or they’re just protest selections - to antagonise the board into the action he wants.
  15. Yep. A lot keep saying- it will come good with his own players, but I think he’ll just bring in more older heads, renew Magehy and Gardner (because they try in his eyes) and we’ll continue to struggle. I don’t see suddenly becoming the team we want to see next season.
  16. Mellon doesn’t like youth - never has at previous clubs- just wants older heads. . .
  17. Nah, far more concerned with the fact we can’t get our act together than I am changing to a subject that has affected us once or twice in 30 years.
  18. Million percent. I don’t want or expect a full breakdown of every decision, but I think the board in particular need to say something and show some accountability- I say the board, because they are the running the overall business and are accountable for what is spent - Mellon and the players are just passing through.
  19. Yeah, agreed. Mellon isn’t happy with the squad, and looks like he’s had enough. The board must be worried about the cost of backing Micky if his complete overhaul is to be backed. (On the back of what has already been spent) Fan apathy is back - because we haven’t capatlised on relegation by bouncing back quickly or even built anything for two years for fans to think - success is coming. I’m not one for saying the world is ending, but It’s really difficult to see how it can be turnaround next season with the internal wrangling at the club and the expectation of the fanbase.
  20. Glad it’s over to be honest and we’ve been put out of our misery. The only people to come out of this season without any blame is the Rothwell’s, and especially Frank. DR- - Overseen a big budget that has returned very little value for money for two season running. - Hired two guys for recruitment who were unable to identify a right back, that either wasn’t a known sick note or someone the manager seemingly doesn’t want. - Sanctioned a convoluted recruitment system where the head of recruitment and manager are at odds over who to sign. - Brought in stats bomb that has contributed to a hugely imbalanced squad where no player has developed, no player has a re- sale value, and every player that has joined has stagnated or gone backwards. - Sanctioned multiple signings of the same position, and literally no one in other positions. Mellon. - Says he knew after Flyde in his second game it was a big job, but he also knew what was needed and knows what a good player looks like. . is then allowed 6 signings and none of them have really improved us at all. - Says he doesn’t have a right back, but was allowed to sign one- then doesn’t play him, and again says he doesn’t have a right back. -Makes multiple changes every game, even if players have played well. - Says he’s not beyond criticism- then indirectly blames the board for the contracts given and the recruitment and then says the players aren’t good enough. Then finishes with the classic, I know what a good player looks like. The players. Too many in the comfort zone happy to pick up good money, and play at being a footballer. A few knowing they’re undropable and slipping into going through the motions. To many not playing and being unmotivated. The Christmas incident, arguing with fans, a them and us attitude. What I want more than anything this summer is some really honest conversations, and if the Rothwells have to get involved then so be it, it’s their money and they and us deserve better.
  21. I’m absolutely convinced they won’t sack him, but I’m not convinced he’ll be here next season.
  22. Darts has been good tonight, and Snooker starts on Saturday. Every cloud.
