  1. I can see a massive titanic moment with this story.... Like a bad dream you are not sure if it's happened before, then you wake up and realise Hardy is still the self made marketing mastermind...... What other club posts a message like that unless the deal is done!!! Let's se what happens but I for one won't be holding my breath.

  2. SAUCE - Dale website

Groundsman says covers have been on since Tuesday, they also took our spare ones to give extra covers for the shaded areas and goals mouths. This morning at 10am the surface was 100% playable and it was minus 5 last night.

If the covers have been on since Tuesday the pitch is ok to play this morning, plus the fact they have added extra covers as a precaution, I cant see it being off, but who knows.

    Keep the faith

  3. Bring back some northern teams and a bit more atmosphere. I was gonna bring the mrs but she doesnt want to go vs teams like Colchester :(

So many southern teams is playing a major part in our attendance drop. I would guess if it was the other way around our average attendances would be around the 5500 mark still.

    I could be wrong!

Not when you look at the home attendance levels have dropped, even since the first home game of the season. People need to look at themselves. I would put money on that the same people shouting for Ronnie Moores head are the same people who flit between seasons, coming and going! They held TTA to ransom, but still dont come. What can you do about these people??? I dont know!!

Ps, The same people whe stopped coming under Penney "when the football is better, people will flock back" B@ll@cks

People need to ask "does it mean enough" And what will they do when we have no Latics!

  4. Alan Hardy gets stick for doing a job he just simply shouldn't be doing. He's not a commerical manager and never will be. He's the man who sorts out stuff with the FA and keeps that side of things in order...arranging promotions etc. just shouldn't be down to him! But this is part of the tree being cut into a million pieces...when Sean Jarvis left, I fully expected him to be replaced. Full time! I've since been told by a Trust Member that Simon Corney was meant to be doing this...SC came in, did the odd promotion, lost heart after the Brighton and Northampton £2 games produced little long term reward and has since devoted his time elsewhere like looking for land to buy and the Failsworth project etc. Leaving Hardy holding the baby.......

This is fundamentally why we're in the commercial mess we're in! Guy Walker was a small ray of hope that we were rectifying this situation...sadly, that revolving door at Boundary Park did yet another turn extraordinarily quickly. Why do these "rays of hope" not last long and stay? I'd guess it's because they turn up, find their hands tied and they leave...and we keep on chip, chip, chipping away at everything...the stadium we're currently at, the fanbase, the commerical viability (over £100 per head now on a matchday in the box....do me a :censored: favour!!!) with the "hope" of a pipedream that in reality couldn't be much of a worse potential scenario...going onto Eastlands doorstep.

Worried??? Too f****** right I am!!!

BB80, you are spot on. Even if or when we move we will still have Hardy "holding the baby" as you say.

Re-package and re-price all the proposition.... like you say £100 large for that hospitality is a joke.....

It bugs me how the club react when we have some bad news "ala losses" like we are doing everything we can

  5. So his face doesn't fit cos PD thinks he's too old.

PD said a while back that we need more talkers/leaders on the pitch. Well, SG has the biggest mouth of them all and he is/was club captain. I can appreciate that PD might not want to play Greegs every game but surely he still has a place in the squad based purely on his wealth of experience.

And all this business about him not being fit is, I'm led to believe, simply untrue, and that he's been fit for nearly 2 months.

The fact remains though Ackey, that SG feels it IS because his face doesn't fit.

This is all about his play bonus and the fact he doesnt get on with Taggert - End of!

Thanks Sean - True latics Legend!

  6. Another reason why players might not be keen on a move:

Stay at Latics, earn £100,000 this year. Move to another team on the basis that "you didn't fit, but you're a good player" to a League Two club who will keep you as a top earner as you have League One experience and earn £80,000 next year.

    OR

Move from Latics on loan, still on £100,000 this year. Spend half a season in League Two showing that you're basically as good as what they already have and only earn £50,000 next year.

    I know what I'd do.

As a post a couple of days ago pointed out - the average age of this team is about 23. That's not a coincidence, that's clearly the type of team that Dickov wants and that makes it obvious that Gregan is not the man in Dickov's plans.

Gregan's contribution last season can never be deminished, an astonishing thing for any pro to have done, but that doesn't make Dickov's decision the wrong one.

    Utter tripe pal

  7. To be fair, I can see Eddie's point because some of these players know clearly that they're not good enough for this level and have to accept that clubs in the lower divisions are their future. Whilst I wouldn't expect them to automatically accept less cash elsewhere, hanging about the club on the off-chance someone gets injured is a risky strategy because surely it's better to be playing football even at a lower level than not playing at all.

No ambition.. If they go on loan thay still get the same money, just paid by both clubs involved. These players are arrogant and think they are better than they are. They wont be laughing when they dont find a club at the end of the season when thay are fighting with other released pros for contracts. If Purdie is one of them, then he needs to ashamed, as that lad needs to get his career back on track. Who is going to take him after 2 years out at the end of the season??

  8. Horsecrap. As if tons of Citeh fans are going to travel down here to watch said ex-players in tracksuits at the side of the pitch.

Bottom line is Latics just don't know how to market their product. It needs sustained campaigns, not the odd one offs like Exeter last season and the farce that was the "Bring a mate for a fiver" (But queue up for nearly an hour at the two ticket booths in the entire club). Campaigns like Attend Game X and Game Y and get Game Z free of charge/vastly reduced admission are the ones Latics need to persue.

    Totally agree - AH productions

Time for him to go, he is clueless - when times are hard you need innovation, and AH doesnt have an ounce!

  9. No.

I tend to be at Boundary Park.

But I think the whole idea of the promotion is to get some of them out of those pubs and down to BP on the cheap ...

    Damned if they do ...

What when we are away? Or dont have a game?

Right I will put in real terms for you??? Would you go to City and pay a tenner when you can go to Last Orders in town and watch Latics?

Nothing wrong with the promotion, but not the right timing to even bother with it!!! Think about it
