    I thinks its quite funny, cos like I said before, I dont think they will be queuing up for him. His head and ego has ruled his decision, I think he will regret not signing that contract with us. But we moved on, and he wont be offered owt with us. :grin:

    Yeah. He's always struck me as being quite a strong player for them, and fairly highly regarded amongst cobblers fans. I'd be reasonably happy with him if he arrived.

     

    Some Latics fans really need to try and get over the instant FEAR whenever we bring in a player from a lower-league or even percieved lower-ranked club than ours. It's like they're suddenly experts despite having only seen them play a couple of times which is never, ever enough to form an opinion of them from. Sometimes we simply have to place our trust in what the Latics management think I guess.

     

    But where has this come from? :wink:

    Lee and Stephens will both play a big part in next season.

    Two very good midfielders IMO and maybe even better than last seasons midfield......ie maher,allot.

     

    Did anyone no......David Eyers was the reason we signed Dale Stephens??

    He told me Dale will be a massive player for Oldham...The lads got it all vision,legs,loves the game give him time and he will be a very good player.

     

    Lee has a good background and needs a run of games!

     

    Lee and Stephens played CM against City in the reserves lancashire cup thingy, they played superbly and we ran out winners. They both were shafted by Shez, being payed a salary to train every day, then, when thrown in they wern't fit at all. Shame on whoever made the decision to have no reserve team.

    We have to remember that this is a club in a division higher making a cash offer for a player in our team, it is odd that their scouts and management team see something in the lad that many of our fans don't, seems to be a pattern at our club.

     

    Not saying for a min that he is a bad player. I just think he has had Shez for a coach for 6/7 years. I think the move would be good for him

    Yes

     

    Scored scunnys equaliser in last game of 2005/2006, then scunny made it permanent for 100k.

     

    Then sold him back for a ridiculously inflated price

     

    Ive said for a while that our yoof lacked desire and a backbone at times. I would never call them on matchday but think £100/200k for smalley would be a good bit of business. Also a good move for Smalley, would probably do him good.

    It popped up in the 'getting worse by the week chron', the story about the Micah Richards money after it was discussed on here

     

    And before Penney was appointed it was in the chron about the Victor Chandler betting patterns - again after it was discussed on here

     

    I have to say, the person I heard it from is usually right? This was before I saw anything in the chron.

    And maybe a bit sooner than first thought now their officially not getting paid, poss by next week?

     

    I think alot of the first teamers are mulling over offers elsewhere anyway

     

    On a sad note, its not looking good for them at all and they are looking v v likely to be the first pro club to go bust : (

     

    Footballers are going to have to lover there standards, or they with be fooked. Its not the prommised land any more. There will be lots of good footballers redundant in the coming weeks. Im just glad we have a real manager manager in charge, at this time. Penney will only bring the Darlo players he rates to play at this level. League 1 and 2 are not too disimilar

    Or pronounce Greggan <cough, Roy,cough>

     

    Gregan has been rated by most opposing managers and fans, some dont like him cos he shouts at some of the kids, MAYBE THEY NEED IT with some of the performances and the lack of heart. Got to keep him, however I feel his face doesnt fit with the board. Fingers crossed common sense prevales.

     

    Kalala, Allot(?) Wolfy Hughes Maher will all be gone I feel

     

    I think Ogrady is better equiped as back up than anything that finished the season (Wolfy and Allessandra) and Smally is a better wide player than a striker.

     

    Does Penney want a squad?? If so you will have to keep Whitts, Ogrady and Lomax.

     

    Who goes, who stays - PENNEY DECIDES!!!!

     

    All I wanna see is heart commitment and passion, something we have lacked for months and months, so I will trust Penneys judgement. Although I can see a few suprises that the muppets parade wont like!
