  1.

As they are foreseeable shouldn't that money have been ring fenced ?

Yep. There's a generally accepted list of people who you pay first - staff and taxman are high up on the list. The former can wreck a business through lack of motivation the second can close you down. You could also add football debts as transfer embargoes kick in.

Meanwhile spending £6m on your ground but crying pauper status shortens people's patience when chasing debts, so you shouldn't moan when they dob you in.

  2. Assuming 500 other people took up this offer and Corney was true to his word regarding giving 75% away

A 0.0015% stake in Oldham Athletic Simon Corney would get you're £5000 you will get a 0.0015% of any dividends that the club pays out in profit which would only be a certain % of that profit and bearing in mind it's a lower league football club that never makes a profit that looks highly unlikely you will ever see you're £5000 again until someone bought it off you.

I'm not sure how serious but that offer from Corney was he may have been talking hypothetically but I'd be amazed if people were mad enough to do this basically you would be giving him £5000.

    It's a no from me.

I'd agree with that. He's basically offering to write off past year losses (which should be written off anyway as the debt hasn't built any improved performance) and then sell for £2.5m something he/his partners paid £1 for and have managed to halve the number of paying customers. He'd retain all assets and in doing so would limit any scope for progress.

We'd be in the same situation Stockport were with Kennedy.

  3. Can you ask Corney if he still feels that when he leaves this club it will be in better shape than when he joined as promised numerous times?

With the land sold etc etc etc how can he say yes?

To be fair the land wasn't the club's, although TTA did use the buy-back clause which only the club had access to, but switched the purchase into Brassbank.

The receipts for the medical facility, hospital parking, housebuilding etc could well have given Brassbank a decent return, but it's an unknown.

  4. I didn't really explain it did I, apologies...

Yep we have monthly trust board meetings and notes are published but does the club?

It was the football club board meetings I was querying, and I assumed that Simon Brooke should be attending and asking why they are not happening if they aren't.

I have also looked for Trust meeting minutes but can't see any on the site since the June AGM

  5. I'm baffled about how you think putting water (by definition above freezing point) onto a none frozen pitch with above 0 degrees air could make the pitch freeze. I haven't got a clue what happened but I doubt it overturned the laws of physics.

    Wind chill?

Reported temperature is based on sheltered from both sun and wind.

I haven't checked wind speed or prevailing direction though.

  6.

I know that the internet allows a certain social mobility which was previously unavailable, but sometimes there are more apt channels of communication.

For example, have you reported to the police your allegations of misappropriation of funds? If true, the incumbent chairman would be relieved of his duties rapidly, which is what you want.

Or, you could write to local MP Jim McMahon. He has a duty to hear your concerns and would presumable be in a position to advise as to the current precarious state of the club and any eventual malpractice. He has, of course, during his time as council leader, dealt intimately with the club.

If, on reflection, you think the club is merely poorly run, why not become a director? I'm fairly certain a donation of £100,000 would do the trick. Or if you've a bit more spare cash hanging around, you could make an outright offer for the club - you never know - and that way you could demonstrate how blindingly easy it is to run a League 1 outfit and we could all enjoy subsequent promotion to the Championship.

Why would the police or an MP be interested in how the main shareholder of a business distributes revenue?

Stop :censored: stirring and trying to turn the questions into something else?

  7. There is a risk that board meetings might have the Trust's man at the table but suddenly include a lot less information.

This would be a breach of company law AFAIK. Each director is liable for the actions of the company unless they can defer to another directors to specific responsibility eg finance director for accounting issues.

The seat on the board entitles the director to full access. The director should not accept any limitations on this.

  8.

Add to this the fact that there seems to be a worrying idea going around that people would actually prefer the club to be relegated or to go bust than continue to struggle as we are doing.

Where has anyone suggested going bust is a good idea?

What is currently happening is not working. Crowds down, a very small budget, 7 day income doesn't go to the club, but debt resulting from 7 day facilities does.

Asset stripping is more discreet than it used to be, but if you want to wait until there's cast iron proof we'll be in the same boat as BHS employees. And there won't be any government led investigation.
