  1. "Supporters will have the option to buy food during the night on a first come first serve basis."

    Read more at http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/book-places-for-fans-forum-event-on-november-28-3405232.aspx#L1k2ABjPkP4SKZO4.99

I keep reading this and it's making my head hurt.

They seem to be planning to run out of food that people could otherwise give them money for....

Why don't you, and anyone else planning to attend, call the club and tell them in advance exactly what food you require, that way you won't be disappointed. ;-)

  2. It'd be the same now I reckon - £2 would get about 6 to 7,000, if it was free we'd get a full house. Always.

Pretty much none of these people would come back on a regular basis though so I hope we never bother trying it again.

Yep, agree with that. There's no point making an offer which attracts people who'd never pay a sensible price.

£15 is probably a sensible price for the medium term given the state of the football. It won't draw a 1000 people back IMHO. That would need to be 3 games for £20 or something similar.

  3. I'll type slowly for you real.

There's a clear problem with the club not contacting people who believe that Latics have missed their email addresses off the mailing list.

It will be better for them if the club rectifies this. It will also be better for the club. You still following?

How could this be done? Well , as I suggested, one way is for those affected to contact the club - that way there's little excuse for them being missed off in future, The onus is on the club.

    Now do you understand?

Again you're trying the patronising crap. Grow up.

Try this THE CLUB ALREADY HAVE THEIR EMAIL ADDRESSES

So, by your logic, the club are already at fault

    Now do YOU understand?

And can you make a point without descending to school yard insults? And without wrapping your words up in mis-placed quotes like a beggar claiming the purpose of an emperor?

    (sic)

  4. Your comments remind me of a quotation from Thomas Paine ...

"To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead "

    Night night

That doesn't really fit. I gave a clear reason why I thought you'd missed the point. That you chose to ignore it shows that your quote fits you quite well - was it intended to be a self appraisal?

  5. Here's an idea. On the assumption that people want the club to improve why not get in touch by sending them something like

"I would like to receive your weekly email newsletter . Here's my email address. Please ensure that I'm on the mailing list. Thanks"

Yeah, blame customers for not being contacted by a business. Good God you're not just sanguine about the decline, you actively deflect blame from the club. This is why people stop coming.

  6. FAO: MARK MOISELEY

I emailed you with an idea on day 1 of you being at Latics. You replied saying you agreed and would look to getting it sorted.

3 main routes surrounding the Boundary Park area

Get this new £15 admission price plastered up on lampposts, sandwich boards, signposts...put the word out to thousands of passers by daily!

    YOU'VE GOT NO EXCUSE!

A positive suggestion, and a positive response. Fans engaging with the club and trying to help.

Some people only see the negatives in other fans though.

  7. 1500 X £16 is £24000. Personally, I think £16 is about right and would have thought it would attract more than an extra 500 fans back.

Tuesday / Saturday bogof was an effective price of £10 (in advance) but there weren't 500 extra fans.

Over the years many offers have been run but have never resulted in extra revenue overall.

  8. I think it was always the plan to press the reset button, be it through choice or necessity.

Did we lose Sheridan because of it or did he want out regardless? Who knows but it was a huge loss.

Do you have any evidence it was a plan?

If you think we'll finish where the bookies predict, and that we should be realistic and not get upset by that, then connecting your own statements means we have planned to go down

  9. Show me this other interview. Thanks.

So, you were wrong to say I'd made up a quote, wrong to call me thick and probably just being the noun yourself.

Now you think facts only exist if you agree with them. I don't think there's much hope for you.

  10. There's a difference between lying, bull:censored:ting and mis-quoting

But when the chron says that SR says the fans do get on backs quickly, it ain't a compliment, it's a criticism. Of course the chron may be mis-quoting, so I expect you (you know who you are) to have been to their offices to complain.

Unless you are a spineless hippocryt who simply operates on a selective morality.

  11. So you've not watched the interview, or read a full transcript? You're just going off a couple of quotes used in an article and making your mind up from that?

There's context to what he said and what he was asked. He doesn't "blame the fans", he talks about how the players haven't dealt with the atmosphere and how they haven't offered anything for the fans to get behind.

    Replied to wrong post

  12. SO DO I!! Does staying away prove you have more ambition for the club? does it improve our prospects?

    What a :censored:ing weird response.

Does continually handing cash over force Corney to do anything other than his continued decline?

Maybe a financial protest would force him to drop the asking price and attract a more ambitious owner?

You (and even I) might continue to attend, but there are few new fans coming in with the way things are, and plenty leaving.
