Just a quick Thanks to the Landlord at The Carlton

Recommended Posts

Just a post to say that not all of Tranmere is bad!

Me my brother and my mate (Masked Owl on here) Went to the Carlton pub on the road down from the ground, it was empty bar a few regulars so we though it would be fine to go in, just after our second pint the landlord came over and went " Look lads keep your accents down and keep a low profile as theres a few of the Tranmere lads coming in, so we started to drink up then 6 coppers walked in the pub and looked us up and down, just as we was leaving 3 scousers ran in shouting Oldham the f*ckin Oldham fans where are they... the landlord stood in there way and walked us out, turns out as we left it was the FYC lads that had chased the Tranmere fans in ,

Luckily we was safe but it makes you wonder would some scummy landlords have done than?

After that we had to walk behind the police escort of the FYC thugs..... fun

To be quite honest - does this organisation still exist? Or are they just a bunch of Chavs who claim to have heard of these boys in the past? (only come out for Tranmere and Huddersfield - obviously only when their mum lets them out)

Sure there are a couple on here who could clear this up...

"Fine Young Cannibals broke up in 1992, although they briefly returned to the studio in 1996 to record a new single, The Flame, which would complement their greatest hits compilation The Finest released that year. Gift reactivated the band name and toured in the 2000s as Roland Gift and the Fine Young Cannibals, releasing his debut self-titled solo album in 2002".

She Drives Me Crazy!!!

Me and my Bro had a similar experience years ago at Swansea away when they played at the Vetch.

We arrived early and holed up in a local pub - we were having a great time relaxing and playing pool when one by one a large group of their Boys came and sat next to the door. The Landlady beckoned us over and said "Look lads, those lot are big trouble. Do us a favour? If it kicks off, can you take it outside (and pointed past the Swansea fans) or out the back (and pointed to another door)". No problem we said and we are not looking for trouble.

So we carried on playing pool until they started speaking in Welsh and picking up Pool Cues. When we asked if they wanted a game, they just glared at us and made it quite clear that the Pool Cues were not going to be used for playing pool with

So I then decided it was getting a little bit dodgy and asked the landlady how to get to the ground from the back door, only to be told that the door led to an encloded courtyard with no way out

So we ordered a couple of Double Straight JDs, necked them and walked calmly past the ever growing mob to sneered shouts of "See You Later, Oldham" and many phrases I couldn't repeat without beeing able to speak Welsh. It was only when we were safely out of the door that we legged it to the turnstiles as quick as we could.

Them were the days
