boboafc
Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has confirmed he wants to sell the troubled Premier League club. Ashley only took charge of the St James' Park outfit last summer and has endured a rollercoaster spell at the helm in the North East. His relationship with the club's supporters has reached breaking point in recent days following the resignation of hugely-popular manager Kevin Keegan. Keegan quit his post after just three games of the new season, claiming that he was forced to walk away due to the board's involvement in the club's transfer policy. OldhamSheridan
I thought this was going to be about Cole at first... Not to delight in others misfortune, but this whole episode has been utterly hilarious.
spadam
It will be better for the club if he leaves.
garcon
I hope the Toon army aren't exepcting anything to happen quickly. Ashley will want to recoup his overall outlay, which is probably well in excess of £300M, possibly nearer £400M.
Guest oa_exile
It will be better for the club if he leaves. Read his official statement yesterday , The Toon are another Greedy League Club in an awful financial mess. Luckily for them he wont walk away before the future is secured. leeslover
It's not exactly the worst time to have a spare Premiership club lying around the place. What strikes me about the whole affair is that Ashley is actually perfectly suited to being Newcastle manager, as he is plainly as utterly deluded as the rest of them if he thought King Kev and Little Wisey were going to make his club a powerful force in modern football. Tommy_Fent
Ashley now in talks with some Dubai geezers £480 million is the price which having read the reasons for some of his reasons for selling yesterday in the Tmes is about £400 million to much as they are still paying the transfer fees of players bought before Ashley coming to the club, Everytime they hired a manager they indulged him with money in which he promptly wasted. Newcastle are as bad as City deluded fans, revolving door manager policy, and perennial under achievers.
