GlossopLatic
Can we do it enough? When Scunthorpe came on Tuesday night they came to win which meant they got men forward to support their Strikers which left gaps up top for our midfield and strikers to exploit. yesterday Yeovil set their stall out play 2 banks of four and not give us space to play and it worked. Yeovil were not the first team to come and do that and certainly not the last so if teams are not going to let us play are we going to be able to give nothing away and nick a goal. Teams that make a habbit of winning ugly tend to be rather good at Set pieces and it goes without saying how bad we are at them, they don't give away the kind of goals that we did yesterday too which were both easily preventable. We need to learn to do this because not everyone is going to let us play football when they do we can beat anyone but we also need to win the scrappy one nils if we don't it will cost us big time. JoeLatics
Id go 4-3-3 against 'mediocre' opposition like Yeovil, forces the team to attack! Neithr team wanted to push up yesterday, it was all about soaking up pressure!

Totally agree. We win against the top half clubs because they have confidence in themselves to win (and win well), so they are willing to play attacking football that seems to suit our style of play Lower half teams do not have that confidence and set their game plan to have many players behind the ball. Other teams in the lower half will take note that we struggle against this system. Until we can work out a way to break this system down, we are going to be disappointed with many results against lower teams.

Neithr team wanted to push up yesterday, it was all about soaking up pressure! think we need to adopt this attitude when playing away, play with a defensive midfielder like maher, frustrate the oppo and play more on the counter,if we nick a win then great,if we scrape a hard fought draw then so be it,but at the moment we seem to be open and to predictable.ktf. Lookers_Carl
think people have hit the nail on the head here. to get out of this division, we need to be able to win pretty and to win ugly and yes, we are god awful at set pieces, we have won arguably more corners than any team in this div, and i dont think we have scored from one yet?
