youngen
He was to be up against Ronnie Moore. Moore was sacked due to fans not liking his football, yet 3 years on were still no better off even with someone the fans wanted. And lets be honest we are still a long ball team, who very rarely play swift passing, and arent that good to watch. I dont and didnt like Ronnie Moore, but even with Trannies hes always had his team there or thereabouts the playoffs. Hopefully we can continue recent good results against the Tramps though. Bingo, but he never quite gets his team into the playoffs come 46 games played. That's why I'm glad we got rid of Ronnie, because we'd be fielding the likes of Bas Savage whilst hovering between 8th-10th place for the majority of the season, putting a little run together which takes us sixth, before ending on a poor run which sees us back down to 8th. At least with Shez we got a playoff finish. Edited March 15, 2009 by Bring Back Pukka Pies
lalalajpkalala
Yes you really couldn't write this stuff. Ronnie's team jumps above us in the league and his successor gets sacked. The new man is Joe Royle, one of the greatest managers in the club's history. And his first game sees him come up against Ronnie Moore, one of the greatest [enter a noun of your own choice here] in the club's history. lalalajpkalala
Good one Pete. Not what I was expecting, but I'm with you on that one, he certainly did, even if it wasn't pretty. Chesterfield away that year was one of my lowest points supporting Latics. I was almost resigned to relegation after that.
