Has there been a player at Oldham in the ;past 5 years not linked with Doncaster?! The profiles of players with links to Doncaster and Oldham would fill a whole programme. Quite frankly - who cares ?.....the sooner this football mercenary is away from and forgotten at Boundary Park the better, OK Barry Owen did sterling work in getting him to B.P. then despite all the efforts put in by Barry and the club, he appeared to go off the rails, yet again, finally kicking sand in the faces of everyone at the club, including worst of all John Sheridan. Then Big Joe figured him out and off he went - Lee went to Blackpool, scored one goal, got fed up because Blackpool figured him out just as quickly as Big Joe and there you have it Lee Hughes - super striker in this level....out of a club, hopefully he will soon find that he's not worth as much as he thinks he is. Being fair to him, he is more than capable of bringing success to B.P. but not at his price - it looks like Dave Penney soon sorted him out as well... goodbye Lee, most of the fans started to love you, then ?????? ah well... daznathe
interesting views. its my opinion that shez's weak disciplinary tactics played a major part in lee 'going off the rails again'. he was like a man possesed when he got out, and the leaving of the rails was a gradual, obvious event. I agree with you on this, Lee Hughes is prob better off somewere other than Oldham but his decline was a steady one and I think we got some value for money out of him while he was here
