LaticsPete
Well done for such an informative communication from the club. He's taken time to explain , not only about the injuries, but also the physical and mental rehab too.
slystallone
OS Physio Report I obviously meant well written. That, Mr Robophysio, is one of the most detailed & informative articles i've ever seen on the official site. Really interesting read - the 3 pelvic injuries are a worry; hope we don't have a 'Middlesborough esq' problem with too hard training pitches or something of the like. Well done though & keep up all the hard work young man
opinions4u
Other than the reference to Deane Smalley's buttocks, that was excellent. More of the same from everybody within Latics please.

rudemedic
Osteitis pubis can't be that common as it isn't in either my favourite medical website nor my big medical textbook so to have 3 cases of it seems a little bit disconcerting and maybe someone needs to have a look at the squads training programme- especially pre season. It is essentially an inflammation of a bone (osteitis) and the pubis refers to the bone involved (the pubic bone- which makes up part of what people call the hip) but to know more I need to have a good old google to find out what it entails and it may need a good library session too. Having had hip problems myslef in the past I can tell you they aren't fun and since the hip is quite a deep lying structure (as opposed to superficial) the needles are pretty big when it comes to injections. Deane Smalley's injury is the big worry as if he was in his 30s (so coming towards the end of his career)- rehab would probably be the best solution but since Deane is young the slightly more permanent longer lasting (or more accurately the increased odds of such) option of surgery may be needed- this will mean he is out for longer but it is more likely to make the problem go away. Its the sort of thing that senior doctors make their living on and I'd be interested to know what decision they make.
