boboafc
you can't get three higher profile Football League managers than Roy Keane, John Barnes and Ian McParland and paul hart and hull city bss phil brown. Keane and Barnes because of what they did on the playing field, McParland because of what his boss Sven did playing the field. Keane is making a pig's ear of managing Ipswich, Barnes an equally poor job of managing his weight, while McParland is finding that operating under Sven ain't much fun unless you're young, blonde and unclothed - and even then it ain't much fun. Hills have opened a book on which of the three will leave their club first, and Tranmere boss Barnes is the even-money favourite, with McParland 7-4 and Keane 11-4. Barnes got the Tranmere job because of his Jamaica record - World In (Slow) Motion - but it's becoming clear he's far less comfortable with club football than he is with Club biscuits. rosa
i'm stunned that barnes has lasted this long. Obviously tranmere's board are working on a cost-benefit analysis of how much it will cost to pay off his contract vs how much will it cost them to get relegated. F.O.B.
Notts County are the only ones who could allegedly afford to sack their man right now. The others either would cost too much having recently been appointed or the clubs simply haven't the money to pay them off.
LaticsPete
Tranmere at Bury tonight. Anything but a win and I reckon Barnes is into the Mersey.

rosa
i can't be the only one who wants Tranmere to go on a little bit of a winning run, get themselves out of the relegation zone, then start losing again in December, fall back into the relegation places, then lose 5-0 at BP on Boxing day with 'Thomas'-Moore getting sent off for punching one of his own players and Hazell scoring from the halfway line, THEN they sack Barnes. i might be the only one who's put that much thought into it though. garcon
I might put a tenner on us being Tranmere's first away win.

boboafc
COUNTY EXPLAIN McPARLAND SACKING Notts County have insisted the departure of manager Ian McParland was for "footballing reasons". McParland, who spent eight years with the Magpies as a player in the 1980s, was sacked despite County lying fifth in Coca-Cola League Two, just four points behind leaders Bournemouth. The club are unbeaten at home this season but that was seemingly not enough to satisfy the grand ambitions of Swiss-based Middle East owners Munto Finance, who took over at Meadow Lane in the summer. Ridiculous reason to sack him. Fact being, he was stupidly sacked because he isn't top of the table by clear points. New owners thought that league would be a walkthrough for them.
