oafcprozac
Anyone know of any decent free antiviruses etc.. for a macbook? Not had it long and not really up on them but hell it looks nice!
Crusoe
You shouldn't need Mac AV. No real virus threat (not to say there couldn't be, but Windows machines are a more enticing target for virus writers). Seriously, as a reasonably new Mac owner myself, by all accounts there are no known viruses 'in the wild' (proof of concepts, yes), so there's little point. Plus the UNIX roots of OSX make it harder for a virus to take hold (e.g., less reliance on default local admin permissions).
dave_ragg1984
I've had mine since October and haven't put any AV on it. No problems yet (touch wood), justmake sure you got the firewall turned on.

Lookers_Carl
Have had my imac for nearly 3 years now and have not put any antivirus on it. To date, still 0 problems, but if you really want a free one I would have a look at Clam X Antivirus
