opinions4u
I love the game. But I will never understand the rules around rain affected games and when tea / lunch breaks should be taken. Today's play v Sri Lanka has been messed up big time by showers. But after a break for rain the players re-emerged at 4pm. Before a ball was bowled another shower hits and the players go off and the covers come on again. Within 10 minutes the covers are off and the sun is out. So it's 4.10pm - time for tea! Sun out, no play for 20 minutes while the players have another cuppa.
OldhamSheridan
I'll decide on Friday night whether I love or hate cricket, even if it is the kids version. I guess with the intervals you have to limit the length of sessions. Otherwise it could get a bit silly.
opinions4u
I assume they had to give notice of putting the kettle on or something, hence not starting tea 10 minutes early. Edited June 18, 2011 by opinions4u
leeslover
They have to take an official lunch and tea - the umpire can declare it early if they are off for rain but wont do if there is a chance of play in the time he has called it for. They went off for rain at 4pm. Tea was due at 4.10pm. So why wait 10 more minutes? Not that it matters - an hour on and it's pissing it down again! jsslatic
Good. Let it all get rained off, one nil to the Ingerland.
Moldham
I was there. The problem was the covers took 30 minutes to take off so by the time they had been sorted out it was raining again. Only 13 balls were bowled in the afternoon session because of it.
