Good times, happy memories.

I never went when it was really in its pomp (around '88-89), but I did go quite a few times not long before it shut down in the mid-90's. It was a pretty sad state of affairs by then, riddled with gangsters and had an air of intimidation around it. I much preferred the Stone Love midweek indie nights though, back in the days where I could head down there with about a tenner, roll out at about 4am and be up for work rough as a dog at 7am. The thought of that makes me feel physically ill now, but they were brilliant times.

The whole decor then felt like it held some special times in dance culture though, even before its end.

It's my sole claim to have been there, when frankly I prefered Iron Maiden and Led Zed, but I'm glad I went to something of the era. I recall lots of people being very nice when I went through an inexplicable spell of heart pulpitations. Old schooll?
