"God Save the Queen" is the national anthem of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Like many aspects of British constitutional life, its official status derives from custom and use, not from Royal Proclamation or Act of Parliament. In general only one or two verses are sung, but on rare occasions three.[7] The variation in Britain of the lyrics to "God Save the Queen" is the oldest amongst those currently used, and forms the basis on which all other versions used throughout the Commonwealth are formed; though, again, the words have varied throughout these years.

It's only in sports where the Home nations compete separately that Wales, Scotland et. al. have different national anthems. Welsh and Scottish Olympic gold medal winners get God Save the Queen as they are representing Her Majesty's Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island. It won't be any different for the football.

Regardless of what the Scots, Welsh and N Irish think, we're all one state. We have one head of state, we're one country as recognised by the United Nations, our citizens carry the same passports etc etc.

As I tell my Scottish colleague, Scotland is just the northern most English county.
