Pure Elvis 1977
Would you stick with 442 or slot furman into midfield alongside wes and play Baxter further forward and slightly off target man in a 451 then Baxter can drop back into midfield When needed, Or is it a case of bollock to them and play our own way and see what happens .. opinions4u
Why set an exam style question though? I'm never going to sit another exam in my life.
Gentleman
I'd go with the 4-5-1, with Wes sat behind Furman and Baxter (with both of them pressing whoever sits, the aim being to win the ball further up rather than soaking up pressure). I quite liked the idea of Tarky breaking up the play in front of the back four, but would've liked to see how he took to the role before now. I'm much more worried about being humiliated by this Everton side than I was about Liverpool.
Laticacid
agree with that, basically baxter off barnard, obita, croft on the flanks, id also bring byrne back in for tarky
Hands on
The best form of defence, for us, is attack. Having one up front releases both full backs. Having two up front, particularly if it is a rampant Smith with Barnard to pick up the pieces will keep three of the defence honest. It has to be 4 4 2 with Croft and Obita charging up the wings, Croft appeared somewhat slimmer - corset or has TP locked him in a cage, and some luck at the back. Could Furman play right back? 1 up is what got us where we are.
