Tommy Bryceland

Recommended Posts

Only just picked up on this thread.

I'd posted on the Chron website how Jimmy Frizz took over as manager with the team in the bottom four of the 4th division and turned it around by going on the attack by signing up Jim Fryatt and stiffening the back line by signing Bill Cranston.

For the following season he signed Tommy Bryceland from the same Clydeside environment as himself and he - TB - provided the service for Fryatt and David Shaw and wingers Bebbington and Heath to set up goals galore , win promotion and all the prize money for the short lived Ford Sporting league which paid for the Broadway stand that replaced the old Clocky.

This 'go for it' attack mindedness proved the mainspring for all the promotions under Frizz and JR right the way through to the Premier League and one of the heartening things about the return of Shez is his statement of intent to work again exactly along those lines.
