Somewhere my dad has an old VHS of 101 Great Latics Goals, mostly pre-dating the Premier days. From memory it's basically 60 minutes of Roger Palmer sliding through the mud in a crowded penalty box to scramble one in.

I was mascot for that man Utd away game. Neil pointan looked after me. Richie was sulking in the corner of the dressing room having been put on the bench (or maybe not even making the bench) and didn't sign my sticker album. Joe r put me in a friendly head lock and chucked me out when he came to do his team talk. McCarthys goal was great. Little did I know that within a week of that day supporting latics would become so miserable
