Robbie Earle's Perm
Hi, You may know I'm the pre-match reporter for the Port Vale Fans Forum One Vale Fan. Part of my role is to contact fans of our forthcoming opponents to ask them a few questions and gain their views on the upcoming fixture between our sides in order to produce a report which we release on the site a couple of days prior to the game. Some of you kindly contributed to our reverse fixture article and I wondered if some posters would like to take part by answering some different questions. I wondered if up to three of you have a few minutes and would kindly offer your feelings on the game by answering the following few questions; 1. Tell us a bit about yourself & history as a fan? 2. How are your team doing (current form and in relation to the expectation of fans at the start of the season) and where do you think you will finish the season? 3. Who should we watch out for (one or more danger player/s)? 4. What are your thoughts on your manager? 5. Can you tell us up to 3 quirky things opposing fans might not know about your team? 6. Any views on the current Port Vale team & specific players? 7. Did you attend the reverse fixture earlier this season? If so what were your thoughts on the game? 8. Any views & memories of players / managers that have been involved with both teams and which Vale player past or present would you take for your team? 9. A score prediction (and potential scorers for both sides) and what do you expect the attendance to be? 10. Finally can you pass on any decent recommendations for local ‘away friendly pubs’, eateries and the best places to park for our fans travelling to the game? Please also feel free to include any other information you feel worthy and I will knock it into a report as per the example below regarding contribution from Doncaster fans from a game with them; http://www.onevalefan.co.uk/2015/02/opposing-views-doncaster-h/ To enable me to produce this in good time I need a reply by Friday and the report should appear on the website a day or two before our fixture. Please also let me know if you would like me to include your name on the article and if you are prepared to share one a photo of yourself we can utilise with the article. Many thanks for your potential support in this matter. Best Regards, REP
Dave_Og
Just save yourself the trouble. Type the most depressing, downbeat answer that you can think of to each of your questions and print that.
the_mighty_bosh
Well we've got 1 point since we played you last time, been embarrassed on TV in the cup, morale and faith in the people in charge at the club are sinking lower and lower...and to top it off we're still in the EFL Trophy. ghostofcecere
Too depressed for a proper reply, but I'll leave you with this: If you score you win, if you don't you'll get a point.

Many thanks for your potential support in this matter. Best Regards, REP Looks like apathy really has set in, so here goes from me 1. Tell us a bit about yourself & history as a fan? Been going since I was 5 in the late 60's and have seen us play in all 4 leagues and at Wembley twice. Used to go home and away, now it's just home games, and have only seen us score once at home this season in 7 games! 2. How are your team doing (current form and in relation to the expectation of fans at the start of the season) and where do you think you will finish the season? We're terrible at the moment, and never look like scoring. If you score you'll win. With the current manager we'll be relegated, if we get a new and league one savvy escape artist before mid January, we may have a chance of escaping relegation. 3. Who should we watch out for (one or more danger player/s)? We have 2 decent players , Ripley in goal and. Centre half and captain Clarke. 4. What are your thoughts on your manager? Next question please. Seems like a nice bloke, but it's not working out for us as manager. 5. Can you tell us up to 3 quirky things opposing fans might not know about your team? We're going to win the next 23 games and get to Wembley for the play offs. Even the drummer has stopped drumming. The barn doors are being removed so we have a chance of scoring at home. 6. Any views on the current Port Vale team & specific players? Sorry, no idea, remember Vale Park as once being touted as the Wembley of the north/midlands though. 7. Did you attend the reverse fixture earlier this season? If so what were your thoughts on the game? No I didn't, did I miss much? Could guess that Ripley made several good saves, and 5 or 6 of our players looked like they'd met each other for the first time 10 minutes before the game started. 8. Any views & memories of players / managers that have been involved with both teams and which Vale player past or present would you take for your team? Good Vale players that I remember are Robbie Earle, Darren Beckford and flat cap manager John Rudge. 9. A score prediction (and potential scorers for both sides) and what do you expect the attendance to be? Low score , could be 0-0 or 0-2 Attendance will be between 3,500 and 4,000 if you bring more than 500. 10. Finally can you pass on any decent recommendations for local away friendly pubs, eateries and the best places to park for our fans travelling to the game? Greyhound inn , 10 minutes walk away down Holden fold lane. Car park next to Clayton playing fields off broadway, if you get there before 2pm Keep the faith, hope to play you again in league one next season ? Robbie Earle's Perm
Cracking set of replies thanks a lot. The article should appear on our website tomorrow. Best of luck for the rest of the season after Monday, even though its always flipping freezing I love the away trip to Oldham!
ghostofcecere
Most of us are hoping the groundsman waters the pitch again before kick off so it freezes and the match is off.
