Tinternet and t't laptop

I've just acquired a cheapo laptop from my dad. Anyone got any tips about whether / how I would be able to connect up to my Tiscali Broadband (that my PC is already connected up to via a modem) wirelessly.

Is this even possible?

Do I need a special........ thing?

I am a bit clueless with all this technology, but before you judge, a woman at work the other day asked me 'How do you get them 2 dots?'. She meant a colon. Another asked me 'How do I get rid of that line?'. It was the cursor.

Okay, go...

START MENU > RUN > compmgmt.msc > DEVICE MANAGER >

Scroll down to NETWORK ADAPTERS, click the + to open the tree and tell me what type of NIC's (network interface cards) you've got.

Then we'll see if your laptop is wireless ready or not.

The only thing under Network Adapters is: VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter.

And what would I do with that? Yes, I know I'm useless.

Is that the only thing I need? Would I be needing to buy something else?

Yes you do Mads , you need the "Bells & Whistles" to go wireless
