already form a very tasty spine of a team for me. and l know best so nerrr. is Green still with us?

Conlon with a summer to get up to scratch could still be an asset. Thought Lundstram improved towards the end of the season too. Still desperately need a creative player in there though

this is precisely an example I have a huge issue with. It’s where the toxity in our fanbase lies.

@League one forever makes a valid point. When we’re on top, winning and playing well, we have amazing fans. But that kind of amazing has to transfer to when we really need it, such as going a goal behind.

I accept that part of it was knowing going a goal behind meant we were unlikely to change things, because , yeah, we lacked enough characters and players with bottle. Both sides of the coin need to align next season. We will go a goal down at times, but we will play with a genuine desire to get back on level terms ASAP. I just hope the needless singling out of players goes.

At this level, at some of the grounds we're playing at, it will feel much more personal too. When we were playing at places like Bradford and Vale Park or wherever it'll get drowned out, but when you're playing at the equivalent of leisure centres the players will hear every word. That's why I don't like the singling out, it's needless

  3. Whilst I would agree that if players start to produce the fans will get behind them, some of the criticism and abuse from the self proclaimed "best fans in the league" the last couple of years has been really poor. Shelton getting booed on to the pitch in a game we were winning an example that comes to mind. I stopped going around February as I couldn't be arsed with the negativity

Improvement needed on and off the pitch tbh.

And following on from that, if his first pass missed and he didn’t make his first tackle, he doesn’t yet warrant a label of “useless”! Some players are anxious when in a new team.  We have had some very good players who always needed 3 or 4 games before they were flying, even on return from injury.

Yep. Hammond was written off after about 20 minutes last season. Some players need a run of games, especially youngsters, not all can hit the ground running like Stones. Unfortunately there's no patience in the fanbase at the moment, people can't wait to write off players

We sign players from clubs in lower divisions "why we signing players from tinpot clubs? 😡"

We sign players from teams who have won this division "well it didn't work when we signed players from Stockport 😡"

We sign players from higher divisions "why we signing L2 rejects 😡"

    We don't sign anyone "😡😡"

We sign players in their late 20s who haven't played for a couple of months "😡 the club is dead"

Did Clarke get much grief? My memory is that the consensus was he was a good player for us...

Maybe I'm misremembering, seem to remember them both getting pelters that season but maybe it was just Pidge, who was treated ridiculously unfairly by some of our support

He was decent in the games I saw him play 👍

I liked him, him and Pidge came in for grief for that season because we essentially had no midfield and teams used to cut through us. Latics fans been proven right once again by those two 🙄

    Mmm.

It’s a nice effort, if there wasn’t multiple stories (which I’m sure are all made up because he seems a lovely guy and he always performs. . . ) about him being an absolute cock.

But- having said that,  he is a good footballer so maybe we should we pray at his feet and thank the lord he is here, because without him. .  let’s face it we’d probably end up folding.

    Bit dramatic, no?

  10. I saw James Norwood in a supermarket in Salford yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a dick and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

    Get rid imo

What galled me yesterday was the group of "supporters" who booed our players during the pre-match activities and at half time.

I don't boo myself, because I can't see the point, but totally respect the right of others if the performances are poor but to begin before the match has started is just stupid. 👎

It's happened numerous times this season. I remember a group of our supporters at a couple of away games under DU earlier in the season waving a San Marino flag about and chanting about how shit the football was pre-kickoff. Basically hoping we lost.

Best supporters in the league though, remember
