Poor is the word
No desire to see our neighbours off
Better second half incoming?

After watching that Mellon presser I have now switched to an away win.
Can't say I'm surprised

I've never been one to boo the player's off,
If they've done what's expected of them I'll clap till my hands are sore
I do tend to head for the exit as soon as when I've been unhappy with what I've seen and that should be enough

I like the "edge" that Garner gives us, it's something we have been missing for a while, my only criticism would be is that he overplays it a bit too much, there is a fine line somewhere.
I was really pleased when I heard we'd signed him,
Yes, I'm blinkered from seeing what a top striker he was for PNE but even now, I still think he's got plenty to offer at this level or the one above.

They have a place, but the game isn't played on paper.
Damned right it isn't,
All about on the day, don't turn up get beat

Doesnt matter how good he was for someonelse he was dog shit for us. He played 4 times and scored 1 goal costing us over £500k in wages he is the worst value for money signing in the clubs history and it was done completely over the managers head as a present to the fans. As presents go I'd rather have a lynx africa box set.
Have to admit I was bothered at the time
His 94th minute goal was sweet and against bastard Rovers

If the Fylde game was a must win, what does it make today?
Alty will now be looking at 2nd and 3rd place as very achievable, as we go through the motions

Biggest wage bill
largest playing squad
2nd best squad measured by experience and EFL pedigree
18 months of investment and effort in the football enviornment by a committed board and a magnificent family ownership
Two highly paid managers recruited, both backed to the hilt to have whichever players they wanted
the best and most high profile centre forward in the division
Based on all recent experience today is the day when all the above is finally chucked in the bin (for this season at least). A footballing lesson awaits from a team with a playing staff earning about a quarter of ours played on a ploughed field surrounded by some cowsheds with a fan base of a couple of thousand, oh and it’s live on TV, so lots more people get to witness it.
The utter shitshow of the last few weeks all stemmed from that disgusting display v Kidderminster. Teams with anything about them do not lose on days like those, it does not happen. Our lot simply did not have it in them to win that day, and in doing so, as a collective (management included) showed to us what they were all about.
of course the squad is imbalanced, but the 11 he puts out each week (even with Macgahey at right back and four centre mids) should have enough about them to win when it matters and get the points needed (from where we had ourselves pre Kiddy) to finish up about 5th.
The gaps in the squad is just an excuse and covers up for some clearly deep seated problems within the playing squad and/or the relationship with the coaching team. I don’t know what they are, but it’s baffling that 15 or so highly experienced players and a manager of the experience and intellect of Mellon has not been able to fix it. They have been together for months now, and cannot blame any external factors for their failure.
That group, have royally fucked things up, and I hope in time we find out what has happened to cause this, because to me it is a mystery.
Play ugly but win was clearly the game plan, and with the tools available there is nothing wrong with that plan. Why has it not happened?
A very honest assessment and a case of let's see what next season holds
How many times have we been saying this, with or without investment?
Can we improve on Chesterfield's long stay down here, possibly but only if they level things up and have more than 1 team automatically promoted.
Even if a miracle were to happen and we somehow squeeze into the play offs, this lot haven't got what it takes to get past the first hurdle.

This April fool thinks
We'll probably play with total freedom and win but let's not Conn ourselves

I still think Pete wild will end up back here… based on absolutely nothing .
Crazy to think we let that man walk away
Wonder how he'd of used the budget Frank put up?

Sick to the back teeth of this absolute shite. This is much worse than it was even under Unsworth, WTF is going on here?
We have more than capable, experienced players who are just not cutting it….Hobson now looks so uncomfortable with the ball at his feet, Kitching is a shocking player who goes backwards or sideways at every opportunity. How is McGahey getting a game at FB before Sutton or Sachdev?
Hogan is dropping bollocks left right & centre and Conlon is a non-entity. Hammond is like a rabbit in the headlamps and doesn’t look like he has a clue how to play.We have two strikers who’ve proved themselves at a far higher level who have had absolutely no service whatsoever and have to try and get on the end of hopeful hoofs from Hudson and the back four.
Garner spends even more time on the floor than Fondop!
I don’t know as to how much longer Mellon can churn out this repetitive after match bull shit. He’s had about 30 games now to put his stamp on our football club and IMO he has failed miserably in just about every aspect.
It wouldn’t be so bad if you could see some green shoots of improvement or a recognisable style of play but there’s absolutely nothing to suggest he has the faintest clue as to how to improve us…..It has been a total shambles and if I were Frank I honestly wouldn’t be giving him another penny of my hard earned!!
After reading that, it's as if Unsworth never left
In fairness, we did improve beyond recognition and it was such a relief but now we're back to square one and everyone's revisiting past traumas.
Maybe the weight of expectation is too much to carry for any manager or player who wears the shirt.

At the time I said it wouldn't bother me if Thommo got it for the season if he was given the three or four players we needed as it has been obvious for two season we've no rightback, midfield or consistent wingers but the club plumped for who they thought was the best fit. It's gone pear shaped though in a really bad way and it's starting to make the board look incompetent.
We're fast becoming the Everton of non league

Yet again,
The man I'm feeling sorry for is Frank,
What more can he do? It can't be easy for him to witness the way most of those brought in aren't performing for his club, especially after his own personal miraculous feat.
You'd have to be thick skinned to take his money after that non event

First doubts of Mellon creeping in today. How were Fylde more up for it than we were?
That keeper handball non-decision is one of the worst pieces of refereeing I've ever seen, but let's have it right - we deserved nothing.
There isn't one player I'd keep.
The worse thing is - what hope is there for next season??
Probably only Hallam at this rate

But I’m not sure what more they could have done, Mellon was probably the best appointment on the face of it, Conlon and Dallas coming in too, garner has bagged a few already, it’s utterly baffling .
The BP curse is well and truly, alive and kicking

If last Saturday was a must win, but we didn't win, then Friday can't be a must win, by your logic it's all over
We can look forward to another season down here
Hopefully, one day, somebody might come along and achieve something

The Alty game isn't going to be pretty after that today
Like Haughton, another of @BP1960 top tips Conn-Clarke might be adding to his double today
Almost out of sight from us before a balls even been kicked

Unsworth must be sat there thinking everything that was going wrong wasn't just down to him after all.
Obviously something isn't right to have fallen off so drastically and only Mellon has the answers

Get our noses in front and fail to take full advantage of it, then give as soft a goal as you could ever give away
A true shocker and last chance saloon passes us by, oh well
There's always next season
