Junior Luamba continuing to start regularly for Salford alongside Matt Smith & McAleny. Don’t think he’s scored yet, but wasn’t expecting him to play a level above when we binned him off. Anyone wish we’d kept him on to play & develop in the NL?

I think his contract is up in the summer isn’t it?

It’s also worth pointing out that this is only the 3rd time in 3 years that we have come from behind to win a league game at Boundary Park, after conceding the first goal - which is a nuts stat (especially because we concede the first goal at Boundary Park a lot!!) Loved watching Fondop & Garner last night, especially in the second half. Garner really enjoys the battle. He was backing in, niggling away at the cloggers marking him, getting a few digs in and generally being a shithouse pest. Great stuff. Fondop took some damage as well. Kept his cool despite some clatterings. Gave as good as he got. Held the ball up well at times & did his defensive duties at corners. He celebrates winning a few throw ins and got the crowd going. People talk about entertaining football, but I was entertained by the battling display in the second half. We stood up to the challenge and found a way to win. The period around minute 90 where we won a series of corners and throw ins to waste time was just as satisfying to me as a flowing, passing move. Managing the game and seeing it out comfortably is something we normally struggle at doing, so big thumbs up from me for how we kept the door shut once we were winning.

Who’s willing to sit on a contract & not play? There’s probably only Shelton that’s not been catching the squads at all recently who’s still at the club.

It is a concern, we need players to step up with goals. For me, it’s disappointing that we regularly play with a defensive back 5 or 6 and Sutton, Raglan, Hobson, Hogan, Kitching, McGahey (and Sachdev) only have one league goal between them this season. We win a fair few corners - I’d be expecting decent CBs to chip in with some goals. And attack minded wing backs to score one or two so far in a team pushing for promotion. Lundstram as well hasn’t come close to scoring in the games I’ve seen. Christ, even Shelton has bagged one and he gets pelters. Given the experienced talent in the squad and the opposition I think the goals return has been really poor.

I fckin hate Brentford. For me, they should still be a really shit team playing at a tinpot Griffin Park playing in front of one man and his dog. Fair play that they’ve been run well and established in the Prem, but playing in a packed out new stadium belting out ‘Hey Jude’ (why???) and Seven Nation Army is just Mickey Mouse plastik knobhead behaviour. if we ever rise back up, I demand we play Mouldy old dough to a rickety Main Stand otherwise I ain’t coming no more.

We wouldn’t have been able to watch much of these new lads this season given they were barely playing for their clubs. Micky was probably able to chat to his son about Ethan Walker, he’s the one who has looked the most promising but weirdly played the least. I wonder if Dallas was a Darren Royle signing rather than a Mellon signing given the past negotiations with his agent.

Micky & the players will be encouraged that we’ve got 10 days to look good in training before they realise that they only look good in training because they are playing against each other. That’s why we look great, because we’re so easy to play against. Then when an actual proper team turn up (yes even Boreham fing Wood) we’re all like oooo this is more difficult, Mark Shelton didn’t pass it round us this easily when we played against him in training heeey that’s not fair let me tackle you like Ben Tollitt let’s me tackle him in training, whhhyyy are you standing so close to me and marking me, Dan Ward never does that on little Wembley, mickyyy it’s not faiirrr

I hate this league. I hate being shit in this league. I hated being League 2. Thought it was shit compared to League 1. We were shit in League 2. I thought League 1 was pretty shit but it was actually ok. No matter what League we are in, I always think we have half decent players, but they’re not. They’re always just shit. Until they leave us like Callum Whelan or Ollie Banks. Then they look decent. Hate football. It’s shit. If we get to the play off final and win it I will love football.

Just remembered we got knocked out the FAC by Newport this season. We could’ve been playing the rags today (yes I know it doesn’t work like that with the numbered balls!!!) Nuttall buries his chances v Newport, becomes a hero, fires us to promotion and a cup win v Man Utd. Sliding doors alternate universe stuff right there.
