  1. Says 2-2 on the official site, I wondered who is checking these write ups before they go live, click here to see:-

    It actually reads:

    All systems go for Colchester

There has been no Easter break for Latics' players as they prepare for the second part of their holiday double header in npower League One as Colchester United tomorrow visit Boundary Park.

Good Friday's 2-2 draw at Swindon Town was followed by a recovery session on Saturday and a full training session today.

Lee Johnson was delighted with the way the team trained today and how preparations have gone for the visit of the U's.

Latics' manager (pictured) has no injury worries from Friday apart from a couple of minor niggles, and so on---------

    The mind boggles sometimes.

Barbara update, in addition to her MND she's just spent 9 days in ORI.

Barbara was sent home from ORI late Tuesday, it was as if the hospital had said "as you don't want to do what we've recommended here you go sort it yourself", absolutely disgusting.

No discharge note, we don't know if the pneumonia has been cleared up (she's still coughing badly) and she's full of bruises (I'm really concerned about this and the family have informed PAL's).

On a brighter note our good friends at Oldham Athletic AFC sent Jean Yves M'Voto to see Barbara today, we didn't tell her anything about the visit and the smile on her face was something to see, a big thank you to Wendy Noble (OAFC Community Trust) and Gordon Lawton for making this happen from us all in the Gardner Family.

  3. Hi Ian

Very sorry to hear your awful news, keep the faith and this will see you through these sad times.

Sorry I can't make Sunday, mate, however I hope it goes very very well.

I am sure one of the office laptops is in need of your TLC and in the next few days I will give you a bell and send Chris up with it and also a donation to your two chosen causes. I lost one of my best mates to Cancer late last year and I know just what you are going through.

    Take Care - Brian Millington.

1st Donation received today, a cheque for £25.00 made payable to Marie Curie Nurses from my good friend Brian Millington.

    Thank you Brian.

If you want to see our Facebook page about the show click here.

  5. As some of you are aware my beloved wife of 41 years "Barbara" and staunch Latics Fanatic, was diagnosed with MND (Motor Neurone Disease) in July 2012, unfortunately her consultant tells us now this horrible disease is taking it's final toll on Barbara's health and overall condition.

As a family limpetlad and nobby.com with the help of Naomi (my daughter) we are staging a Charity Concert this Sunday at Tapio's in Middleton (see below).

We are trying to raise funds for the MND Association and Marie Curie Nurses who are both helping Barbara as her time draws nearer, we have a Facebook page click here, if any of you fancy a great show for an hour or two on Sunday afternoon, please come along ALL welcome and I mean ALL.

Barbara's been to the last 2x home games, but we've had to leave early because it was too cold for her, some of our friends say they wish they had joined us, on leaving that is.

    Regards

    Ian G.

  6. I've just spoken to Neil Joy and he told me it's totally out the clubs hands at the moment, the change over has been forced on them and there are only 4 co-ordinators from the new web-site company helping all of the league clubs (I think thats 82 in total).

Latics have had 2x visits already to try and sort it out, but it could be another couple of weeks before it's back to normal.

I asked could anyone offer support to the club and the reply was it's down to the new web-site company to sort it as the club only supply the stories and write-ups.

    Don't :rifle: the messenger.

  7. Ian.......you told me it was Dover Athletic this morning!

First posting on the new laptop......cheers Ian for sorting it me out.

Hi Craig, I thought it was then and Matt told me he was at Hearne Bay, sorry.

Glad you like the new lappy.

  8. Very impressed tonight, solid back four with M'Voto and Tarky both solid and Grounds very composed on the ball.

Byrne was excellent and even had a go at two of theirs in the mass brawl, better than Lee when he was defending IMHO.

Furman 2x and Simmo 1x very good goals with impressive passing play, Croft passed well and M'Chamanga linked up nicely.

Trialist "A" (#9) striker looked good on the ball and had some nice touches and movement.

In the 2nd half it appeared Micky Mellon must have given the Fleetwood boys a good tongue lashing at ½ time and also sent on a couple of cloggers who kicked 3x lots of crap out of us.

All in all a very good game for the Latics, I'd certainly give the triallist striker (#9) another look.

I'm getting quite excited about the team Dicky's putting together, keep them fit and who knows what could happen.
