  1. Am I the only poster on this board without a 'reliable source' at the club?

How does one go about getting one of these extremely important fan tools? How much do they cost & can you use one of your ST vouchers in securing one?

Hey, Sly I got told by my reliable sauce at the club we'd signed a "belter" called Dan Taylor.

This was last night (Saturday) and they we're adamant this news hadn't even been issued by the club on Latics World.

I just couldn't stop laughing all night.

  2. Think it actually shows how much Barry cares about his role & the club, that an article announcing he's battling the big C also carries a note he might not be as prompt with his correspondance from fans.....

Leave the football matters Barry and focus on the health battle; far, far more important. Bill Shankly said football was more important than life & death. It isn't. Focus on getting better rather than replying to fan emails.......

All the best for fight Barry; get well soon.

  3. Cant open the link on my phone; but reading down all bar the last post i assumed this was about Evina. Then, when Big Joe was mentioned i twigged it's about Danny Jones.

As a left back - poor & no thanks.

As a left winger, yeah - if the deal was right.

Seem to remember all his previous managers wanting him to play midfield; and saying thats his position......but Jones wanting to become a LB.

Over-rated as a left back. Very decent going forward though so as a midfielder; yep.

    Daniel Jones ex Wolves.

  4. At the end of season players award dinner he was sat at our table with M'Voto (we sponsor Jean Yves :first: ) and I asked Oumar directly would he be joining us next year and his reply was "it's upto Dickov".

May I also say what a cracking pair of lads good fun and Oumar was totally bemused by the magician :detectivegm0: .

  5. I went with the missus and the two boys (limpetlad & nobby.com), overall a really nice night.

Good food, very good entertainment, the magician as brilliant, Tonks couldn't believe his eyes and Venn was Venn (still good at his age).

I had my picture taken with 2x giants M'Voto (we sponsor him) and Tonks.

I asked Tonks the question "would he be at Latics next year and his reply was, it was was upto Dicky".

One of the highlights of the night was Dicky and Barry in an auction frenzy for a a 5x day holiday in the UK, Dickov won @ £425.00.

The Kieran Lee show for the awards, the only thing I found worrying was when Broady interviewed Kieran he asked him about the future and Kieran's reply was I'm always trying to better myself???????????????????????????????????

No Kuqi with no mention of him although his name did appear on some of the nominations and Taylor got bladdered, nough said.

    Regards

  6. I've been told that PD and SC have had a massive bust up over Adeyami being sent back to Norwich without PD's input and then PD went off on holiday last week without permission (I hope you saw his tan at the match).

Comes from a very reliable source within the club and it's not chinese whispers :gossip: .

I hope PD stays and get's his act together, when you talk to him about OAFC it's like a breath of fresh air but something needs to improve and urgent.

    Don't shoot the messenger :rifle:

  7. Hi Keith

Deepest condolences for your very sad loss.

I'm in a similar position except I'm the dad and grandad (as Joe's got his 3rd season ticket at the age of 9).

I dragged Matt (screaming and kicking at the age of 4 to Boundary Park, that's about 34 years ago now) and Nathan followed along a couple of years later.

We all still go (including the wife) and enjoy both the ups and downs of our little team.

All our thoughts are with you at this trying time.

    Regards

  8. As the seasoned reserves watcher you are - I guess you'll be watching?

Can you do a quick scouting report on 2 elements of this game please Gary?

How sharp does Diallo look after his injury?

What is Irwin Jnr like - with a view to being a midfield option for us?

    ta,

    Seconded, yes please Mr "D".

    Ta in advance.

  9. My issues with MIke Newton are the fact he has been hellbent over the last couple of years to get himself involved at a lower league club, this despite on a number of occasions failing to prove he has the resources and contacts to take that club forward. Rightly, questions were asked at Port Vale and despite an attempt to get fans onside through a public spat with the directors at Vale Park, he failed. The same thing happened at Stockport, despite their desperate situation they passed on his offer of investment. I have to be honest, it shows how desperate we have become as a club to bring him back on board. If he was investing significant amounts I could understand his desire to interfere, yet despite him being back at the club for over 5 months what exactly has he brought to the table?

  10. Playing a song after we scored a goal at bp? Bit random I know, but just thinking I remember the days of "I feel good" being played after a john eyre screamer! Suppose it begs the question of do you think we should play a song after a goal and if so what song??

Didn't the club stop it because they had to pay "Performing Rights" fees for doing so.

I seem to remember something along those lines, but I may be wrong or did Franny just take all his old CD's back????????????????

  11. No game next weekend, so what are we going to do about our footie fix? Two members of the Bristol Massive got cheap train tickets for Stevenage weeks ago before the bloke who booked them realised it was FA Cup 4th round day. OK, it was me. dunce.gif But as we have the train tickets, we've decided to use them anyway and go to a game in the London area. So we've chosen THE game of the day.

    BARNET v CREWE!

Never been to Underhill and probably never will again as they are moving after this season. Trouble is, I don't think anyone knows where to. We could regard it as an unpaid scouting mission in case they beat Swindle Town and get to Wembley. Plus, it gives us the opportunity to run the rule over ex-Latics stalwarts Dean Brill, Mark Hughes and Steve(n) Kabba.

Anyone else taking a match in anywhere? Or is it a day's shopping with the Missus? naughty.gif

Fortunately I'm going to be in Tenerife, will miss the 2nd leg of the JPT.

Just have to find a bar with SKY that'll have it on.
