  1. Green & Fondop are the only 2 for me and that is because we know on their day, they can be unplayable in this league. I know that is few are far between but it's still a lot better than the rest or the majority of the dross we have in this squad.
  2. From where we were under Unsworth to where we are now is a massive achievement we could have only dreamed of being in the play offs with less than 10 games to go. Well guess what we are, albeit not by playing attractive football but grinding out results and playing players out of position. Rome wasn't built in a day, but by heck if by a small miracle we get promoted who the hell will care if we played hoof ball, Mellon ball or what ever type of ball is being played but I am damn sure we will all be celebrating our first promotion for over 30 years with our friends and family on play off day. If we don't get out of the league this season then MM will have done a decent job achieved the aims of the club which would have been reach the play offs and then have a full pre season, another transfer window and hopefully freed up some cash from the contracts of the deadwood and we go again. Right now, I wouldn't expect any other manager within our budget to be doing any better with the squad at his disposal.
  3. Does anyone know how ticket sales are going? I see the club have laid on a coach which usually means they are expecting a decent following.
  4. 2 tickets bought this morning, driving up from Plymouth. One of the closet games for me this season just a mere 3 hours 20 minute drive.
  5. Didnt Crystal palace have a Christmas party in August as the previous couple of seasons they had a really good run of form post the festive period on the back of a woeful start to the season that had them in the relegation zone. Send them on a 3 hour drive round the M60 at 08:00 on a home match day or an overnight stay in a travel lodge at the players expense until they start winning at home and see if that cures the home defeatist mentality.
  6. After watching the Eastleigh game and listening to MM rave review of Macgahey 's midfield performance during his post match interview, then he won't change the midfield 3, not for the time being anyway. We had legs in midfield with Sheron and Hammond who both had some freedom to get forward get up the pitch and support the front 2, which then closed down their midfield and back 4, squeezing the space so the Eastleigh midfield couldn't dictate the play. With Fondop and Garner you also have willing runners to support the press. If its not broken then don't fix it. Conlon and Norwood both on the bench for Saturday all being well it certainly gives us options.
  7. Thought this may have been on National league TV with it being an FA Cup weekend. Shame it's not for us who can't get to the game. Need to back up the decent performance and result against Barnet with another win against a bang out of form team.
  8. I can see Fondop becoming a bit of a cult hero for this club, he has passion, is unorthodox and scores vital goals, seems a genuinely nice bloke in his interviews , as much as he divides opinion he can be the missing piece of the jigsaw in some games and you can tell he loves the club. Just imagine the celebration if he comes of the bench and scores the winner at Wembley in the play off final.
  9. If we never had Norwood, and we had Reid and Kurt 1st team regulars, running the channels and doing the donkey work for Fondop, then I think Stockton would be a good signing as he would be an upgrade on big Mike. However Norwood and Stockton are too similar players in my opinion and I doubt they would compliment each other if they were playing together. Stockton isn't going to come to us knowing he will playing second fiddle behind Norwood. Mellon wants his front players to press and work their socks off, you won't get that off Stockton. Money should and could be spent better elsewhere in the squad.
  10. There was an old lady in her 80's selling raffle tickets once in pub. I asked "how much do you want" she replied "a £1 a strip" My reply was "here you go love there's a fiver keep your clothes on".
