This Sat sees the Roughyeds playing the London Skolars for the first time, being a 'Yed most of my life and being involved with the Skolars since the beginning this is a big game for me... it was soooo nealy a better w/e! A few of the OASIS lads will be going along, the kick off is at 3pm at New River Stadium, Wood Green ..... before the main game will be the Summer Conference Southern Division top of the table clash between last years Summers Conference Winners South London and London Skolars A ... whom I coach!!!!!

To get a little pratice in and to help Lancashire out try the club challenge section of the site, those wollie backs are slightly ahead of the mighty red rose. The idea is that your score adds to the the county you are playing for grand total. You have tens balls, you don't lose a ball if you carry on getting boundries and loose 5 points/ball every wicket you loose. So on that score may ask that some of you play as Yorkshire .... you know who you are

like now they just sopped calling it Latique for a number of years, then whne the new one was built they brought the name back

Its not about what he deserves, there are several players who are out of contract and 'probally' deserve another year after all their efforts this year.

However its time to step up a gear next year whether in the Championship or challenging for promotion again in the first. The simple fact is the squad at the moment has been good enough to put us in a position for promotion but most continue to improve. Haining for example is one of those who as done well for the club, sorry he's not going to get much better as a player and so won't we... do you see what I'm getting at?

We need to get a few players in of a higher standard to compliment the young up and coming players and build the team around Gregan / Wellens ... hopefully in the Championship. Promotion or not players are now going to seriously consider offers to join this club and work under Shezza.

Things are looking good for the future ... but only if things are managed by the club / management team correctly.

Many years ago, well in the 60's, the Cron ran a comp for its readers to give the new Latics store a name. Now at the time Georgie Best and beattle mania was at its prime and everyone shopped at all the trendy boutiques. Now the winner, a married lady with two teenaged lads, had the great notion of putting Latics together with boutiques and came up with Latique and won first prize!!!! That lady was my late Granmother and it will always be the Latique to me :thumb08:
