Think it's a problem PD has identified, given that he preferred to play Lee there for a few games then a recognised left back.

We've got an Aussie and his name is Wesolowski!

Shaun's no nonsense agricultural style wasn't always easy on the eye but it was effective.A No from me.

FA cup first round draw is a week on Saturday so who do we fancy? A non League side away be nice i fancy York City or Gateshead away
Southport or Fleetwood away would be good.Local non league team's going well at the moment, would take a decent following & would be good test.

Got caught out down the left for the goal when Taylor had to close down their man with the ball it left a gaping hole behind him for another Tranny player to run into to latch onto the ball & cross for the goal. Not sure if it was Mellor's fault but no-one went to close down the player who crossed the ball into the middle.

This was the single best news to come out of BP in my 23 years of supporting them......................And then we got lumbered with Paul Dickhead!
Hahaha what?!

And Wigan (spit) regularly entered a team into the Rugby Sevens RU tournament and won that a couple of times too! If I remember rightly wasn't one of the games you refer to played at Maine Road?
I know one of the games was played at Twickenham, can`t remember where the other was played.

To add to this when Wigan & Bath were dominating their respective leagues in League & Union in the 90's a two legged match was arranged whereby the two sides played each other, one game with League rules, the other with Union rules.Wigan slaughtered Bath at League & Bath didn't win by anywhere near the same margin in the Union game.Proof that League is better!

Great news

The Furmanator deserves it for me.He's been consistently good all year in my opinion, has chipped in with some good goals including the superb team goal of the year.Lee would be second with Stephens third.

The club MTK Budapest have formal links with Liverpool, from what I heard it was costing us very little if nowt. The idea was give some of their yoofs a go and if they were decent Liverpool would take a closer look - thus the 'loan' element….Liverpool have the pick of any of their players with us allowed to look in detail at their kids.
One of my Liverpool supporting mates said that this arrangement with MTK has recently ended, could be why we've sent our Magyar loanees back home.

Terrible news.
Best memory was of course the injury time goal he scored against Colchester.
There's not many last gasp goals that stick in the memory, certainly over recent years, but except for Gary Mac's goal at Scunny this one was my favourite.

I thought Stephens was dogsh*t for the majority of todays game and would only rate him 5/10 and thats purely for him scoring. He looked way off the pace, misplaced far too many passes and generally looked like the effort wasn`t there.
IMO he`s looked poor to average for most of this season, bar the opening month.
Would rather we kept hold of Furman and Lee if it was a case of having to sell one of the three during this transfer window.

Wait, isn't that what I said....he's not a goalscorer, thus he's not the primary striker. He's similar to Tounkara, you wouldn't expect him to get 20 goals a season because his game is about creating chances for others with his hold up play, headers on, flick ons, etc. Hence when you play a goalscorer (primary striker) off your secondary striker (whether it be a target man like Abbott or a grafter like Feeney or Warne) you're hoping the primary striker can use the chances carved out by the secondary striker to score a goal.
I don't understand what is hard to grasp about this.
No it's not what you said otherwise I wouldn't have queried your statement.
Abbott not a goalscorer,haha.
-
Pawel Abbott is bigger than Jesus
Fair point,well made.
-
Yeah He's a target man, like Tounkara, y'know the sort of player you play your primary striker off. :-)
Using your terminology I'd consider a team's "primary striker" to be the one who is invariably the top goalscorer and not necessarily a target man.
Though if you think Abbott could ever be classed as secondary I'd be intrigued to know who were his "primary" strike partners through his career?
-
Abbott a second striker.Really?Ok.
-
Yeah, fair play to him for that!! Might just be the kick up the arse he needs.
I expect him to start in the middle next week, in place of Furman. If he does well, i'll do my best to get Stephens relegated to the bench for when Furman returns
Yeah,I also expect Jones to take Furman's place & Taylor to switch to right wing & Kelly to start up front.
I just hope Dickov doesn't try Jarrett in the middle again with Jones back in on the right!
-
Grreeeeegggannn, I'll be cheering him on as he makes his debut for the Cod Army.
Am undecided whether to go and watch Fleetwood at home to Buxton or go and see Southport away at Wrexham. Can't see Fleetwood having much trouble getting past Buxton tbh.

What about that Robbie Williams aswell?
And John Macken?

How about Guns of Navarone.

Apart from his assist I thought he was average at best today. He didn't do enough to try & stop the crosses coming into the middle from the right winger & his dallying on the ball almost cost us dearly once or twice in the 2nd half.
That said,I'd rather have him at left back than Mellor who clearly isn't a defender.
