  1. is i was billy clarke i think id go norwich, 20,000+ every home game, big club ( for league one ) close to home, more money, the odds are stacked against latics.

yeah they still have wes hoolhan, quality player. lee croft is still there, i think if they keep there players they will easily get back to championship first time of asking.

Re Lee Croft,I heard he was looking to move back to the North West to be closer to his family.I think he might now be out of our range unfortunately, plus PNE were sniffing round apparently.

  2. Slavia Prague games at their old ground on top of a hill.Sparta Prague(spit!)game as well.

Slovan Bratislava game last season, pretty dire game with a stadium less than a quarter full.At least the beer was good! :drinking66:

Espanyol game a couple of years ago against Racing at the old Olympics stadium in February/March time stuck in the stands high up freezin me conkers off.Easily the worst game of football I`ve ever seen(this includes the dreadful games that were watched in the Graeme Sharp managerial era).Spanish league the best league in the world my ass!Was played at the most pedestrian pace ever imaginable with bost sides content to settle for a 0-0 draw with no intent on scoring or entertaining the crowd.

S.V Hamburg game a couple of seasons ago at home to some part-time Bulgarian Pig Farmers in a U.E.F.A Cup tie.Atmos was great with as mentioned before an orchestrated feel to it.

Am in Budapest next weekend so am making the effort to go and see our new friends at MTK Hungaria. They`re at home against Vasas. One or two of their players may be on their way on loan to Latics next season I believe.

  3.

    Brilliant.

    1. Blame the referee

    2. Blame the players

All together now.... Ronnie Moore's a Football genius!

... however, I thought he would be happy with playing like that....

    What a clown he is!

My unbiased Posh mate reckoned they humped the Tramps in all areas, bar the scoreline with Achterberg making several important saves & Peterboro' hitting the post a couple of times.

  4. please hurry up and retire.

you have had your time, your last two sub appearences have been rubbish, please stop trying to take the ball in the corners to wind the clock down then either take it out of play or foul the oppo player...

you have been a good footballer over the years, and i thank you for your service, but its time to go im affraid.

I agree, your last two sub appearances have been shockingly bad!You should have at least added one or two more goals to your tally this season or contributed more with a few more assists that you`re good at providing(all within five minutes per game).

    RUBBISH LIDDELL,JUST RUBBISH!

  5. Done booger all since coming. Strolls around like he's better than he is. Another CD if ever there was one, but not half as good and that's saying sommat with my views of CD.

Never rated Byfield and never will going off what I've seen.

    E4e

    PONCE

Byfield not half as good as Davies you say?

Just an observation to one aspect of their game but Darren CAN trap a ball. He`s got an excellent first touch & close control of the ball.Whereas Craig erm.....well,no not really.

Not having a go at Craig but I think you possibly need to reassess your "half as good"quote.

  6. I remember Beresford for that blinding goal he scored away at Wolves! One of the best goals I`ve seen by a tics player in more recent years. That and Beharall`s goal at BP(think it was against the Pie Eaters)goin past 5 or 6 players & squeezin the ball in via a deflection!

Slightly off topic, but still full back related,Does anyone know if Danny Jones` loan can be extended in January or is it goin to be the same as last year when Bertrand didn`t come back?

  7. dnt disagree a sub was needed .... but why was it maher as opposed to allott

I think Allott gives slightly more than Maher going forward, hence Kev was the one that was sacrificed when we`re looking to get a winner.Just think it was another case of dithering from the management team when they could`ve been more positive 10-15 mins earlier when the game was at a lull.

  8. A good result in the end last night, just! But why didn`t Shez shake things up earlier in the second half with a change in central midfield? To me,it was glaringly obvious we needed a bit more energy & urgency in the middle of the park as we were reduced to our defence lumping long balls up front & our two central midfielders passing the ball sideways or backwards with a distinct lack of movement from the two.At 2-2 we should have been looking to take the game to Walsall with more purpose, espec in midfield.IMO Shez could`ve brought either Whits or Lee on for Maher 10-15 mins sooner to give us that extra drive going forward.

Anyways,a wins a win,and the highlight for me was Jones` two excellent assists for Hughesy.Would`ve been nice for the lad if he`d have scored from that chance he had in the second half after linking up well with Taylor.

  9. perfectly agree .... Jones once again distinctly average - things gone pear-shaped since he cam in and played ok (ironically) at Stockport

    Fleming

    Earley Reubs Gregan Lomax

    Liddell Maher Whittaker Taylor

    Hughes Byfield

    for me on Sat

Not sure it was Jones` "distinctly average" performance as you put it the reason for us not scoring tonight.

Also,IMO he was no worse than our more natural full back tonight or at Northampton.

  10. His performance on Saturday was amongst the most gutless I have seen for years. I never want to see him wear the blue, or Fluo Yellow, again.

    Lol.You`re quality!

Young Danny is far from gutless. If you`ve been going to watch `tics for years as you say you have then you should surely have seen enough football by now to recognise this.I`ve seen the lad play in all bar the game at Stockport whilst he`s been on loan with us & what I`ve seen he`s blocked goalbound shots with his body & made goalsaving clearances off the line on at least four or five times saving certain goals. That to me does not show a lack of having guts.

The thing I would say about Danny is he stands off the right winger a bit too much allowing the winger to get the cross into the box too many times(a`la Dean Holden),though Danny is clearly a winger/wing back filling in at Left Back.I`d love to see him on the Left Wing & Taylor on the Right Wing where I think he`d be better utilised.
