  1. Looks like he’s scored 5. So Norwood would be on 12 and Sheron on 11. If Hudson had taken them then he’d be our joint 4th top scorer.
  2. Penalties aren’t open goals. Sheron wouldn’t have scored them all.
  3. Sheron being our 3rd top scorer is more an indication of our problems than it is of his ability.
  4. It wasn’t a penalty so it definitely counts!
  5. Conlon has pedigree at a higher level. There’s a reason he’s not played well so far. It’s up to the coaching staff to work out what that is and fix it rather than just making an absolute judgement that he’s shit and needs binning off.
  6. Sheron isn’t shit. He gives his all. It’s just that if we want to have a proper crack at the title next season we need an upgrade on him.
  7. Conlon for Gardner. Then a proper footballing holding mid.
  8. Kidderminster looking an absolute shadow of the side that played us.
  9. This. If Kiddie win now my hope will be restored for the next few days
  10. With Unsworth I understood why the board stuck with him over the summer given the results in the 2nd half of the season and I liked the idea of giving people time in a new job. But I wouldn't have lost sleep if they did decide to get rid of him pretty much any time from Aldershot away. With Mellon I feel much more confident that giving him time is the right thing to do. He's done it before. I'm pretty sure I remember a Tranmere fan saying his second spell didn't go well because of something to do with the chairman not backing him or something along those lines. We know that Mellon will get full support here so hopefully he makes good use of that. If we sacked him off the back of this run then I would be a bit concerned about the direction we were taking in terms of giving managers time. Just about every other team in the play offs has had a bad run this season. Unfortunately we've had 2 - at the start and at the end.
  11. Lundstram probably benefitted by playing higher up the pitch. I think the same would be the case with Conlon rather than having him on the toes of the defence.
  12. That needs not to be the case if we want to move forwards. We’ll have to wait and see.
  13. We wouldn’t have scored if he’d added another 10 minutes but that stoppage for the corner flag was 3 mins long. Only 2 extra was added. Referee just awful. As for us, well that should seal it now. I didn’t think that looked like a side who’d given up or just hoofed it or wasn’t playing for their manager. I just thought it was a side who has serious squad issues when it comes to creating anything. If our better players are off form there is absolutely no one else to come in. Right back/wing back and at least 2 or 3 creative forward players are an absolute must for the summer.
  14. It’s hard to see how that is anything other than some sort of bias. You can’t explain it. As blatant example of that offence as you’ll see.
  15. Repeat of the altrincham 2nd half. Decent possession, pressing the ball, moving it round quite well. But get near the box and it all breaks down because the ball is at the feet of someone not capable of creating anything or someone who is but is lacking confidence/form. We desperately need a huge slice of luck or something just to try to spark things before these last 3 games.
  16. The ref seems to have just given a free kick to Rochdale because 2 of their players collided with each other.
  17. Good half in terms of passing it around and getting forward. Again missing a creative spark on the edge of the box and a brain fart set piece goal conceded. Should be comfortably ahead.
  18. Is there footage of that? I haven't seen anything of it. Hard to see how it could have been a more clear cut appeal that Fondop's though.
  19. Before we start hiding his shoelaces have a look at his interview after a 1-4 away win at Barnet. He barely cracks a smile… https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/2023/november/23112023-mellon-post-barnet-a/
  20. Quite. Seems reasonable to think it’d be worth keeping him based on what he’s done when given time in the past. You seem to think there’s not much chance of that happening so I wondered if that was because you thought he wasn’t capable of success with us or as a manager in general.
  21. We won 4 league games in a row under Mellon end of Dec/early Jan. Feels a long time ago now.
  22. Chesterfield pretty much had that exact run last season which took them out of the automatic promotion race. Probably at a similar time of the season too. Cook also had a very average first 20 games in charge the season before when he took over a team at the top and clung onto 7th by the end. They kicked on this season though and didn’t have those sort of runs. That’s what we need to do next season.
