They’ve got to play 3 games in 6 days on that pitch starting Wednesday. Surely any sort of rain on the day puts any of those games in doubt.

I can't imagine they thought he would only be on 17 goals at this stage of the season, no.

It's not hard, I don't think it is realistic for a guy in his mid 30s to score so frequently, those who signed him obviously did or else they wouldn't have done so.
Some grade a stuff here eyresy. You said he hasn’t lived up to expectations. Just to check, is it your expectation he’s not lived up to or the board’s with his 1 in 2?

Was looking at Chesterfield centre mids…
Naylor 12 goals
Dobra 10 (is he centre or wide?)
Banks 8
Jacobs 5
Oldaker 1
36 goals from central mid, or 26 if I’ve got Dobra wrong.
For us…
Sheron 6
Dickenson 5
Gardner 2
Shelton 1
14 goals. 6 of those from players pretty much not played in 2024.
Looks even worse if we start comparing forwards/wide players. -

The question was theoretical, how many if he'd scored them all abd Norwoods tally without them?
Looks like he’s scored 5. So Norwood would be on 12 and Sheron on 11.
If Hudson had taken them then he’d be our joint 4th top scorer.

If Sheron had taken and scored all the penalties taken by Norwood how many goals would each have scored this season?
Penalties aren’t open goals. Sheron wouldn’t have scored them all.
-
Sheron being our 3rd top scorer is more an indication of our problems than it is of his ability.

90+7, the goalkeeper was probably packing his kit away.
Still, he is playing in League One.It wasn’t a penalty so it definitely counts!

Conlon has looked awful each time I have seen him. Lundstram has looked like a bog standard non league player but it seems he had a better game today. If we want to get out of non-league we really do need far better midfielders than those we possess currently. Why do people think these same players are going to suddenly change?
Conlon has pedigree at a higher level. There’s a reason he’s not played well so far. It’s up to the coaching staff to work out what that is and fix it rather than just making an absolute judgement that he’s shit and needs binning off.

Apart from scoring goals, and playing 60 yard pass assists - yeah he’s shit.
Sheron isn’t shit. He gives his all. It’s just that if we want to have a proper crack at the title next season we need an upgrade on him.

Build the midfield around Lundstram, find a player like Gardner who can stay fit. Find a player similar to Mcgahey who can sit, pass and wants the ball.
the midfield has looked a lot better without the anti footballer Sheron in there.
Conlon for Gardner. Then a proper footballing holding mid.

Kidderminster looking an absolute shadow of the side that played us.

Nuttall scores.

This. If Kiddie win now my hope will be restored for the next few days

He needs the summer to put his own stamp on the team...
Like many others were for ages with Unsworth, I think we should stick with him, but wouldn't be arsed if he left...
With Unsworth I understood why the board stuck with him over the summer given the results in the 2nd half of the season and I liked the idea of giving people time in a new job. But I wouldn't have lost sleep if they did decide to get rid of him pretty much any time from Aldershot away.
With Mellon I feel much more confident that giving him time is the right thing to do. He's done it before. I'm pretty sure I remember a Tranmere fan saying his second spell didn't go well because of something to do with the chairman not backing him or something along those lines. We know that Mellon will get full support here so hopefully he makes good use of that. If we sacked him off the back of this run then I would be a bit concerned about the direction we were taking in terms of giving managers time. Just about every other team in the play offs has had a bad run this season. Unfortunately we've had 2 - at the start and at the end.

Lundstram probably benefitted by playing higher up the pitch. I think the same would be the case with Conlon rather than having him on the toes of the defence.

Think we’re in for a nasty shock in the summer. Don’t think the players we all want will materialise- bloated contracted squad with too many on big wages, who are nowhere near the squad and difficult to shift. That needs not to be the case if we want to move forwards. We’ll have to wait and see.
-
We wouldn’t have scored if he’d added another 10 minutes but that stoppage for the corner flag was 3 mins long. Only 2 extra was added.
Referee just awful.
As for us, well that should seal it now. I didn’t think that looked like a side who’d given up or just hoofed it or wasn’t playing for their manager. I just thought it was a side who has serious squad issues when it comes to creating anything. If our better players are off form there is absolutely no one else to come in.
Right back/wing back and at least 2 or 3 creative forward players are an absolute must for the summer.

Whistle goes. 2 seconds later their player has a shot. No booking.
Terrible.
It’s hard to see how that is anything other than some sort of bias. You can’t explain it. As blatant example of that offence as you’ll see.

It's not been too bad but plenty of work to be done in the summer.
Repeat of the altrincham 2nd half. Decent possession, pressing the ball, moving it round quite well. But get near the box and it all breaks down because the ball is at the feet of someone not capable of creating anything or someone who is but is lacking confidence/form.
We desperately need a huge slice of luck or something just to try to spark things before these last 3 games.

400th overhit cross of the game
-
The ref seems to have just given a free kick to Rochdale because 2 of their players collided with each other.
-
Good half in terms of passing it around and getting forward. Again missing a creative spark on the edge of the box and a brain fart set piece goal conceded. Should be comfortably ahead.

Amazingly Rochdale's red card appeal succeeded where ours failed!
Is there footage of that? I haven't seen anything of it.
Hard to see how it could have been a more clear cut appeal that Fondop's though.
