I think Smalley and Kabba could work. Smalley's ability to win a header and Kabba's pace would compliment each other
-
Why the hell would we want to see more of Kabba?
Planning ahead? he's out of contract at watford at end of season! Maybe joe thinks he's an option for next year if he stays?

Anyone see Martin Allen on SSN before?
He said he hasn’t got a clue who or how we will play tonight. They cant afford a scout to watch other teams games, so they just turn up on the night and match there tall players to ours for corners ect. They have no game plan other than to go out and enjoy themselves.

I bet Belle Vue loved the fuss... How many times have they been mentioned in the papers and on the TV in the last week or so!
-
It's all just a storm in dog bowl!
I agree
I just cant see how all these 'alleged' incidents went on without most of us who were there seeing anything (unless im the only one). There was nothing to suggest anything major went on!
-
At this point it all looked innocent enough and everyone just seemed to be having a good time. Hughes is the only one that comes across as worse for wear, (unless he always slurs when he speaks) but again it's nothing too embarassing.
He does more oftern than not, if you listen to a number of interviews on LW he speaks much like this all the time. Yet fans on here are choosing to say it was because he was bladdered.
With all the filming, meeting fans etc and due to the fact a night at the dogs isn't a very long evening. Not sure there was time for players to drink as much as people are making out.
Anyone actually watch the Channel M clip, as majority of players in that had soft drinks. But it seems that one player with a drink set the scence (it was Maher) of a drunken night.
Most of them Channel M interviews were from the start of the night (i think)
There wasnt much 'meeting the fans' going on to be honest, only hughes who went and sat at a couple of tables (dont know if he knew the people or not)
Gregan seemed half cut to me, as i was next to him when he'd just bin threw out. Dont know about hughes, he was shouting across the room, and doin his dance and what not, till Tommy W took him away. Other than that i think most players were having 1 or 2, but none seemed drunk at all.
-
I was there
All i saw was Gregan being escorted out by security with shez in tow (at the end of the night after the last race) with Gregan complaining to the bouncers about bein kicked out! Shez then went back upstairs to where the rest of the players were. Gregan was then on his phone to someone for about 10mins stood on his own outside.
The players were in a different room to everyone else but the doors were always open, there was no shouting or anything to make me think there was any trouble going on and Taylor was stood outside the room with some other players until not long before Gregan was thrown out.
Apart from Gregan being chucked out (at the time i thought it was coz he'd had 1 too many) i wouldn’t have said there was any trouble at all, yet all this comes out a few days after??
Windass was part of the trouble according to some of the papers but, unless he hid all night, he wasn’t even there!!

I was there too,
I didn't see (or hear of) any fight or anything, But as most people were leaving i did see gregan being led away by the security staff with shez in tow, shez then left gregan outside and went back up. There was then a bit of pushing as gregan tried to get back inside, but the bouncers were having none of it, he then got on the phone to someone and kept saying ''iv done nothing wrong''
What ever went on he wasn’t best pleased for being chucked out!!
It was a good night, well worth the £15. Most of the players were there (not windass). There didn’t seem to be any of this so called dressing room split to me (bar this 'alleged' fight) Hughesy was enjoying himself, shouting from one end of the room to players at the other end (until tommy wright got hold of him and took him away lol)

definatly more than 2800 of them showed tonight but why did some feel the need to go in our end with easy over a 1000 scum tickets unsold?
I think (could be wrong) that its something to do with the way they have to apply for away tickets?

There was a group of about 10 foreign (Norwegian I think) Leeds fans on the rows in front of me in the Chaddy, no trouble tho!

At the weekends both my lads play Sat and sun league and I coach diving making it very dificult to get there. In fact almost impossible based on the opening times.
Is this you??

See, that's a very interesting point... he's done very well with the yoof setup, but then Shez did very well in that regard too. So are we swapping a like-for-like out of desperation?
I wouldn’t do anything until the end of the season anyway. We then see where we are, and if we don’t go up, its a ''thanks very much john, you've tried and unfortunately not got us where we want to be''.
I agree that it’s a very similar appointment to Shez, but I don’t see who else realistically (without eating up a lot of the already small budget) that could come in! Most of the suggestions are both too expensive and un-realistic.
Tony already has a good knowledge of the club and players and is well respected at the club.
How about Alan Knill? Done wonders at Bury this season, has experience in our league and was unlucky to be sacked at Rotherham (due to finances... i think)
-
If the budgets as tight as we think its going to be, and you want someone that will gain respect from the dressing room
step forward Mr.....

From a Chelsea fan...
''small and nippy player, very skillful but does over do it at times. good crosser and very quick, but his small size might cause him problems in the pysical lower league. plays predominantly right wing but can play behind a striker. should do well if given enough ball, good luck for the rest of the season.''
-
Accordin to the Chelsea O/S, he can play wide right, through the middle or on the right of a front 3.
-
yeah, if we cant all get the chance to buy a shirt it would be good to have something to mark the occasion, why not make a one-off scarf with, 'oldham v leeds, 2nd march 2009, in aid of victoria breast unit at royal oldham hospital' on it?
although i suspect there wont be enough time to make enough?
-
Just saw the report on sky sports news, there was no snow on the pitch in the corner where the main stand meets the chaddy end!
-
Charged by FA, may face up to a 3 game ban.

Didn’t Huddersfield release a pink kit to buy with the proceeds going to charity (either this season or last) although i dont think they ever played in it!
-
was watching the game at home with family (manure and citeh fans) they all agreed ''the lad with the ginger hair'' was outstanding
-
my rant...
''sky are so ignorant, taylor on the right and smalley on the left?... usual crap coverage of the lower league sides, they know nothing''
5 mins later im getting laughed at by a house full of manure and citeh fans cos i ''know nothing about oldham''
Hughes to The Lashers!
