  1. If the steward’s weren’t there/didn’t do their job...where would it stop? (a fan getting carried away and crossing the moat maybe?) The only ones that are moaning about it are the ones spoiling it for themselves, I sit in the same section (i), all be it nearer the steps. I stand up, I sing, I sit down. I don’t get any bother from any stewards. i can see most things that go on within the group of fans where the stewards focus on (constant standing, goading of away fans, funny looks when others try to start songs... i could go on)

I’m not having a go, In fact i think in terms of the atmosphere its great, like others have said, the best i can remember for a good while against Cheltenham... but if there’s going to be constant standing up, goading of away fans ect. ect. You have to expect to get grief. Don’t forget this season there’s virtually no gap between us and away fans, that’s exactly why they are stricter this season. I don’t think anyone’s against fans wanting to create an atmosphere, its just the way some go about it!

  2. For starters, the club's statement last week on standing and swearing.

If Shez can't see Lidds is past it, he's the wrong man for the job.

Silly notions that we're going up when we've been very lucky so far this season...we're going nowhere.

Having to watch football at what is now a 3-sided dump.

If the club thinks I'm spending money on yet another new shirt, they're very much mistaken.

Neal Eardley...3m? Come off it...he's gash (did you see him on Weds?), ship him out.

Groaning, groaning, groaning. All you get at BP. Fed up of it.

I thought they were your actual excuses then lol.... but yeah, get yourselves down to see the best team in the league (the table doesn’t lie) if you haven’t been for a while, try it and see?

Unfortunately i don’t think were preaching to the right people on here, from what I can gather the majority go to matches (circumstances permitting). I do like the idea of a promotion day/week in spindles handing out vouchers like others have mentioned, (free child ticket with an adult ticket purchased or something along those lines) but I’m not sure whether that’s financially viable to the club!

EDIT: hold on i was right first time, they WERE your excuses???

  3. He's the 10th or 11th signing made by Stan Ternant (with a few more on trial) that’s going to take a hell of a long time for them to gel as a team, and they expect promotion this season???

Also, if Dickinson comes and bangs in the goals for a month, Paul Jewell takes note and takes him back to Derby. During that time he's kept the likes of jevons and parker out of the side (both of whom haven’t featured at all this season so far, jevons not even on the bench) as well as booth. All their other strikers have then lost their match fitness and are unhappy because they were dropped when fit.

  4. Right... I loved wellens as much as the next person, name on the back of the shirt and all the rest...

BUT.. this guy showed tonight that he can step into this shoes and much much more.... pulled all the strings in midfield, always looked in space, and along side allott looked the balanced midfield we have been crying out for

This guy is class... absolutely fantastic... like allott and ruuuubes before him showed he is a brilliant player signed from a dodgy team...

    WE DICKED ON LEEDS! AGAIN!

When we signed Danny i thought he was just the type of player we were looking for, somebody who could play off the shoulders off the strikers, but who could also do the wellens and drop deep, pull the strings and pick the passes, then when we signed maher i didnt think danny would get a sniff!

Looks to me like maher's the one who's going to be warming the bench quite a bit this season

    Keep it up Danny lad

  5. As stupid as Craig was, im sure he's realised how much pressure he put the team under. He has been fined and dropped from the International team. I just hope after all the abuse he's got on here, from his team mates and from shez over the last couple of days, he doesn’t become the next latics fans boo boy, and gets the full support from the fans, after all, he's paid a hefty price for a moment of madness!

Come on Craig, come back stronger, and show us all the potential we all know you have!!

  6. was watchin the extended highlights of the game yesterday, during the applause for Ernie the camera panned to the bench, Demar was there, at least i think it was him wearing no37, so the deal is still ongoing, with him added to the squad, final piece of the jigsaw? i think so, you? hey another thing, Demar is an anagram of DREAM eerie or what, and phillips is an anagram of

Phils Lip not so eerie, ahh well i;ll get me coat!

BUT... i wouldn't drop lidds on his performance yesterday, nor taylor, or lomax, so where does he fit in?

  7. Try watching the highlights on LaticsWorld. You will see that our period of domination in yesterday's game came from Gregan beating his man, bringing the ball out of defence and making incisive passes - mainly to Whittaker and Taylor. What wasn't shown on LW were the many examples particularly in the first half where he was winning the ball, beating his man and pinging long accurate balls out to Taylor and Liddell in the wide positions. If that is being cocky, then more of the same please.

The best example of his "cockiness" was probably the superb 50 yard pass into the channel which led to Hughes winning the penalty and the Millwall lad getting a red. Meanwhile, Allott is praised for a simple through ball for the 3rd goal.

Clearly the guy is marmite to Latics supporters. His detractors see only the mistakes (at a guess, one fifth of the number made by Teflon Stam) while ignoring the massive positive contribution that he makes week in week out. Any team in our League would kill to have Sean Gregan in their side and yet many of our fans can't wait to rip him to pieces.

You are right, he probably does think he is too good for us - probably because he is.

Agree 100%. Easily the best CB in this league, he can head the ball further than some can kick it! and has good distribution. Dont forget he spent a lot of time out injured last season too! Has played (and captained) at the highest level! Apart from 1 or 2 stray passes yesterday gregan had a solid game, and played a part in at least one of the goals! he scares the life out of most CF's.

  8. Seems to be missing the 3rd Milwall goal. Probably best left forgotten.... :o

thought it was! wanted to see it again, cos on that vid, taken from the championship, it looks like crossleys virtually past his near post when he punches the ball onto the bar, the more i watch it, the funnier it gets? He deffo shouts for the ball for the second (you can hear it on the commentry on LW), it looks like reubes cant get out of the way in time!
