  1. I thought he might resign too before being pushed. There's more to life than being a football manager. His health will suffer if he carries on with most of this lot most next season. Problem is I'd feel sorry for the next manager as he'd be dumped with much of the same.
  2. He kept picking the same ones though and axing some like Hobson who always put a shift in. Banishing 2 forwards like Tollitt and Willoughby when they could have been needed was ridiculous, same with Reid who should have been forgiven for his misdemeanour as he may well have fired us into the play offs.
  3. By that reckoning you'd have kept DU till the end of the season. Fans aren't stupid, they say what they see and will cheer when it's good and give flak when it isn't.
  4. Even during that spell he was booed at home matches for his 7 at the back tactics. Instead of bigging him up you need to ask why he's lost total control of the team? Fans pay good money to this club and I've no doubt they have been badly let down by the manager and players. If you were served regular poor meals in a restaurant would you still praise the chef and hope he improves with a new menu? We need Gordon Ramsey at this club to tell the board it as it is.
  5. The most booed off manager I've seen in 60 years. Fans should be entitled to ask why is that.
  6. Even Sheron didn't look interested when he came on and we never thought it would come to that.
  7. Well would he inspire you? He certainly hasn't done with the players on match days.
  8. Basically we have a plethora of lazy players and a manager who can't motivate them. A double disaster whammy.
  9. My observation is he's lost his love for the game and the players know it. This comes across in his downbeat interviews. I feel he ought to retire and find some enjoyment outside the game. We can't carry on with a manager who cannot motivate his staff.
  10. My outfielders retained list is as follows;
  11. There's absolutely no reason he shouldn't have been inspiring the players to a play off position, that's his job and he's failed miserably. Even pub teams players can put in plenty of effort so why not this lot?
  12. He's half hearted, runs in fits and starts and easily dispossessed - same with Dallas, and that's the front two Mellon selected. It's no wonder goals have been scarce. Even Tollitt, Willoughby or Reid would have put in more effort than them and probably have scored more.
  13. The managers half hearted interviews looked to have reflected on the team. A manager is supposed to motivate even the poorest players into putting in 100 % effort and we've seen none of that. His position now has to be questioned by the board as DU was rightly sacked for similar turgid performances.
  14. Oxford commentator says Norwood doesn't look interested.
  15. But we can't have scouted players at the time like Freeman who had injury problems. Appears to me more like agent recommendations.
  16. Is it player recruitment? Oldham Rugby have assembled about 20 new players who have soon gelled and are flying.
  17. Stats are only an indicator, Ive nothing against them being in conjunction with actually watching a player to see if he currently matches up to them. However, most youths will have no stats at all and this is where scouting judgment comes into its own. I remember a Blackpool loanee at Scunthorpe called Rob Apter impressing me a couple of seasons ago and he was definitely one I'd have paid a big fee for rather than Nuttall. He's at Tranmere on loan now and it will be interesting to see what happens when his loan spell is over.
  18. The goals conceded by teams in this league is incredible, hardly anyone has a tight defence. The lesson for MM next season is to go for goals rather then 7 at the back.
  19. It seemed to go wrong after several players were banished, I wonder of this affected team spirit thinking who was next?
  20. Could the Halifax match be played at Curzon Ashton?
  21. Yet early season in usually decent weather it's one match a week.
