  1. oh dear Smalley was ok and played his part and as for Taylor not being a a left back in the two games he's played there this season he impressed me more than his usual position. Anyone care to disagree?

I would. We looked dangerous towards the end of the first half and in the second half when Taylor attacked the full backs. Whilst the second half was brilliant, there was not enough width for the majority of the first and that's why our chances were limited to Macca's effort and Kilkenny's superb strike.

If I was Shez I would have given Black a go at LB, and let Tayls run at the defence from the start.

Eardley was superb, as were Crossley and Allott (aside from when he gave the ball away on the half way line which almost resulted in an equaliser). Apart from getting turned inside out cross for the Donny goal, Stam impressed as well tonight.

  2. Ignoring the first 40 mins...THAT WAS :censored: SUPERB!!!!!!

Brilliant, brilliant passing football. As someone who called 606 on the way home said, it was just like last season.

And without Hughesy! This team is going places...

WELLENS WHAT'S THE SCORE, WELLENS WELLENS WHAT'S THE SCORE?!?!?!?!?

Interesting post-note...when I was walking back to my car I overheard a Donny fan saying to another - 'They just stopped Wellens playing, and that meant they stopped us playing'. Sound familiar?

I'm on a big high, huge smile on my face. Let's do Crewe and get a big boy. COME ON YOU BLUUUUUUUUUUES!

    Crossley is fat though

  4. 7 points off the playoffs, game in hand, 30 games to play...and Hughesy's scored!

Seriously though, let's push on...we've got a mini-break for, hopefully, a couple of FA Cup games...let's come back firing and see what December brings.

If we can keep up the level of performance since Forest (apart from Vale), there's no reason why we can't be up around 8th or 9th by the end of 2007.

  5. Unused sub, played the last five minutes, got an eagle on the 45 yard field goal before winning the 6th set by 566/8 declared, the match was tied at love before getting on pole position for the start of the final quarter, scored 2 long range shots in the final third for the globetrotters to win 91-43, amazing really he did that while poking Sheryl Crow and under the influence

Think that pretty much sums it up. Fishal though claims it was 0-0. Proposterous.

  6. Maybe not, 5 sets is tough for a 24 year old

Can't believe he's only 24. It seems like just yesterday when, at 42, him and Neil Trotman won the Ladies Doubles at Flushing Meadows.

What a game, 6-2 down as they entered the final furlong when Eards lined up for that 45 yard field goal. The rest, as they say, is history...

  7. Philliggi I completely agree with what you have said. What's best is for both strategies to come together. I still maintain there should be a continous large presence of simple 'pro-stadium' propaganda...be it posters/car stickers in the town. Of course, this has to come as part of a two-pronged attack, and we need to campaign and protest in a way which is seen by the residents and the Council as progressive rather than just whinging and complaining.

I'm not suggesting that we should simply do a poster/car ticker campaign. I just think that a physical presence, as such, that will keep the redevelopment campaign in the public consciousness is vital if we are to succeed.

  8. i personally think there has been enough publicity on the current situation as it stands.

No, we need to keep this fresh in people's memories or come a month's time no-one will remember. This project will always have active support from the few thousand regulars we get at BP, half of whom (including myself) either don't or have never lived in the town.

For the council to be pressured into realising the errors of their ways we need support from the town as a whole, who need to be constantly reminded of the benefits that the redevelopments will bring and its positive impact on the town.

If we're just supporting our candidate, whoever that may be, then the movement will lose momentum and fade, and by the time the next elections come round (someone said March 2008 I think), TTA could already be gone.

  9. Homework for the weekend design a poster A4 format and post back to forum as a start.

Car sticker is a simple one as is a badge, perhaps done from club shop £1 donation to the "Oldham Childrens Ward" or "Theatre Workshop" and the like, further positive press about the fans campaign.

Maybe they could charge, but I'm thinking more of a giveaway to make sure people get involved. One for every person through the turnstiles against Crewe (hopefully), or free insert with the Advertiser etc.

EDIT: I had said to make them an insert in the Chron, but I'm guessing they don't want to tie themselves to the campaign whilst the Advertiser seems a lot more pro-development.

  10. Saw this idea mentioned in the immediate aftermath of last week's decision...but has anyone got round to designing some sort of poster that people can print off and put in their windows to show support of the plans.

On a similar note, maybe car window stickers would be a good idea as well. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure when SAFE were in full flow I had one.

  11. Mourinho by a country mile. He's arguably the best manager around, it would be nonsensical not to appoint him.

In addition, his ego is so large that whilst other potential candidates could, and should, think 'is it worth it to be only to be destroyed by the media when we don't win the 2010 World Cup?', he'd see it as an opportunity to prove himself as one of the greatest of all time and live forever as a legend on these shores.

Failing that, Martin Jol. Definately not an Englishman, there's not a quality manager amongst them.
