  1. I actually read the title as AM with Frank!

Talking of radio, did anyone else hear Frank on BBC Radio Manchester yesterday evening? He was at Boundary Park for Oldham Rugby's first game back at BP.

As well as confirming that he is going to row the Atlantic again, he was asked what his targets for this season were given the club's 'topsy turvy' start to their campaign. His reply was a minimum of well in the play-off positions, and he repeated minimum!

Think I’ll give the pod a swerve for a while. Anyone who says “we can all have an opinion, but shut the fuck up”  really needs to heed his own advice.

Matt didn't actually say that but if you want to get angry at someone for holding an opinion they don't have then knock yourself out.

He did to be fair, in those exact words. I think Matt may secretly regret his rant a little, he’ll never admit it of course. It was all a bit silly.

I think the clowns shouting and screaming obscenities at Unsworth should just be ignored. It’s not difficult.

I've listened to it again and Matt was talking about the people who say they love the club, love Frank, but hate Unsworth. He said:

" . . . we hate this fucking manager, and we're going to fucking get on his back - and that is disrespectful to the board . . . it's self-centered, it's disrespectful, it's selfish; and if you're one of those people, just give your fucking head a wobble, and shut the fuck up. You're entitled  to your opinion, but shut the fuck up, because you are not contributing to the future success of this football club."

I agree with Matt's sentiments, but I think I would have put them slightly differently.

Don't think we will see Ward, Lundstram or Green for six weeks with hamstring injuries. Maybe eight weeks as hammies are notoriously tricky if you want to avoid recurrence.

So they could miss 8, 9, 10 games - a significant chunk of the season.

"Midfield trio Josh Lundstram, Devarn Green and Dan Ward are unlikely to feature for Latics this month, with the possibility of Green and Ward absent for around eight weeks after both sustained hamstring injuries."

It really doesn't matter what any table looks like from last season . . .

So, it doesn't matter what the manager achieved in the last 4 months of last season, but it does matter what he's done in one pre-season and one league match this season? Don't be so stupid!

  5. I really can't believe that some supporters are calling for the manager to be sacked after one game. After one game! You need to give your heads a serious wobble. Moreover, given the investment over the summer Frank and the board would be mad to make such an asinine decision right now.

Some people seem to have forgotten that if you look at last season's form guide from the start of January to the end of the season, then Latics were the 3rd best side in the league.

If we're in the bottom half of the table at the end of September - then that's a different matter.
