  1. 1973/74 Title-Winning Reunion - 50th anniversary Players from Latics' 1973/74 Third Division championship win will return to Boundary Park on the evening of Friday 19 April. The reunion takes place the day before the league fixture against Wealdstone, which marks exactly half a century since Jimmy Frizzell’s side secured promotion with a 6-0 victory over Huddersfield. Latics went on to secure the Third Division title on the final day of the regular season at Plymouth. Of the 19 who played during that season, there are 14 surviving members, with all but two due to be in attendance. Attending will be Ian Wood, Ronnie Blair, Alan McNeill, Ian Robins, Tony Bailey, George McVitie, Paul Edwards, Keith Hicks, Mike Lester, George Jones, Chris Ogden, and Colin Garwood.
  2. . . . with a game on the Sunday, where FC Halifax also had a home game the day before. Don't forget, we also need a good surface for our free-flowing pass along the ground style of football!
  3. Just one shot (off target) according to BBC Radio Surrey!
  4. Anyone know what formation we're now playing, with 3 'strikers' on the pitch?
  5. Lots of good play from both teams according to the BBC Radio Surrey. However, according to someone on Twitter 'absolutely shocking this.'
  6. I was on there as well, but I can't remember my username! Didn't TGOBM stand for the ghost of Brendan McManus?
  7. For those not attending or watching 'abroad', commentary will be available on BBC Radio Surrey. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/68391587
  8. As Frank lives in Saddleworth his MP is Debbie Abrahams.
  9. . . . and there's more: www.whoscored.com/Regions/252/Tournaments/70/England-National-League-Premier Home form - Latics are 15th Away form - Latics are 4th Overall - Latics are 7th Just a 'slight' improvement in our home form and a play-off place is in our grasp. In any case, as our away form is better than our home form, then finishing 6th or 7th could be just fine. Typical of the perennial pessimistic @GKing521 to come up with the most asinine thread title I've seen for a very long time. Mellon in.
  10. . . . and this what we mean when we say a 'wand of a left foot'.
  11. I don't want to be greedy and expect another 6 nil win, so I'll settle for a 3 nil win! Celebration Sunday
  12. With 53 points already, we're definitely not going down! On a positive note, as our away from is better than our home form, finishing 6th or 7th could be ok!
  13. A few weeks ago we had 7 strikers on the books, now we don't even have 1 on the bench! Where are Dallas, Hope and Reid?
  14. Over £300,000 now raised. https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/frankrothwell
  15. Some more discussion on Alan Groves from a previous OWTB thread: https://www.owtb.co.uk/topic/51250-alan-groves/#comment-1030472 . . . and more from another thread: https://www.owtb.co.uk/topic/54401-not-perry-groves/
  16. That will be £30 please. https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/frankrothwell
