That means about 20 new signings?

I think anybody who can put together a solid squad of 18-20 players can comfortably be a success in this league. I think its an awful standard....

What we need is a hardworking unspectacular but consistent bunch who hit 7/10 week in week out. I watched Lincoln last night and nobody really stood out as being exceptional quality but they work hard as a bunch and know how they want to play then stick to it.

I think a core 6 plus 10/12 additions, couple of loanees and any youth player with any quality should be enough if everyone is pulling in the right direction and the manager has a plan.

Its a big clear out but let's face it, its required...

Stott, Hunt, Gardner and Dearnley are in the take it or leave it bracket.  Other than that I agree.  Don't see either Iversen or Lang staying but the rest could usefully fit in to a promotion winning squad.

Stott - It's harsh to judge him on his recent appearance so you may be right.

Hunt for me is replaceable - Defensively average and poor going forward. He's been a huge disappointment since his permanent move as I thought he had huge potential.

Dearnley - Doesn't stand out at this level like Surridge did and I think there will be better options

Gardner - Not for me, don't think he brings much to the side.

If we could get Lang / Iverson for next year that would be a great start but I suspect we'll end up building from a core of 6/7 players

  3. Simply cannot expect him to polish a turd....The squad is abysmal. Looking at last night you would keep:

    Iverson

    Edmundson

    Clarke

    Hamer

    Missilou

    Nepo

    Baxter

    Lang

I would possibly keep mouche but for some reason he's spent more time falling over since Baxter took more of a hold of the ball.

The rest of the squad can go for me...

If you look at what he's been given, how anyone can criticize him is beyond me We've got 6 players in the entire squad at a push who belong to us who actually are half decent at this level.

  4. We've got a terrible squad.....Maybe 14/15 decent enough players at this level but that is about it.

For me, we're starting to try and play football and if you look at Baxter in particular, he's got a new lease of life. Nepo pinged a crossfield ball on Saturday which I haven't seen the likes of from him since he arrived. It appears they've been given more of a licence to go play the game. We tire at the back end of games and because we have no quality on the bench it's a toss-up between pushing players and them tiring and switching them with poorer options. Better decision making by the players (It's not 100% players and the manager has allowed us to sit too deep at times) and we're probably 5 points better off than we are now and everybody is praising them all.

We've played one game on a semi-decent pitch since he came in and that was against one of the most in-form teams in the country. If we were lumping it up to O'Grady on his own at home to the likes of Stevenage, i'd be concerned. As it stands, I'm happy to let Scholes try and develop a style and then build around that come the summer...

  5. To say his main contacts are solksjaer and butt is a bit off...

Just thinking quickly he'll have worked with the following....

    Mclaran - QPR

    Kidd - City

Not sure his personal relationship with gerrard/lampard but certainly played many times alongside so that potentially brings in Derby / Rangers.

His contacts will be much wider than those he played with for united.

Sylla? He was very good yesterday.

I think he's improved a little but i dont see us creating anything with a central paring of sylla and Missilou. A central 3 is the only way i see us playing both as it stands so then branger out... Lang out wide and just o grady up top

  7. Im heading in that direction....

Nepo is a solid winger at league two level yet is stuck in an un-natural position. He's working had and actually improving as a full back but is he better than hunt / dummigan...not at thr moment.

Branger shows flashes but needs to release the ball. His end product is average at best...

Vera looks like he's way short of fitness and in ability although ive not seen enough to really judge.

We're ridiculously light and not maximisng the few players we have at our disposal and this time next werk, a couple of defeats could all but see the season over. We needed an extra push in the last couple of weeks to continue the feeling after the Fulham game yet we've completely turned that good feeling around.

    Team for midweek

    Iverson

    Dummigan

    Hamer

    Edmundson

    Hunt

    Nepo

    Missilou

    Baxter

    Branger

    Lang

    O'grady

About as good as we can get out of what we have at the moment.

Except that’s not the regulation. Each club must name 7 home-grown players in their match day squad. Given there are 18 in the squad that means 11 can not be home-grown.

As Iversen has been registered with Leicester since Jan 2016, he is now home-grown. As home-grown doesn’t include a player’s nationality.

Most bookies class a caretaker as a 'next manager' if they manage 10 competitive games so even if Wild isn't getting the job full time, his odds won't drift too far.....

Doncaster are in some form. Had more chance of beating Fulham than we do beating these, especially when it's at their place.

Like I said, we've had the day out but still slightly soured. There will be about 600 away fans and a routine 2-0 home win. Let's focus on the league.

    We'll take more than that....
