What galled me yesterday was the group of "supporters" who booed our players during the pre-match activities and at half time.
I don't boo myself, because I can't see the point, but totally respect the right of others if the performances are poor but to begin before the match has started is just stupid.
If that did happen then those ‘supporters’ need to go and find something else to do on match day.
At some point, one of the owners needs to address the fans and ask for more patience and understanding…
at least until after we get thumped 4-0 at Tamworth on the opening day

Sounds to me like someone telling it as it is . But 5k dumbfucks dont want to listen or dont understand how bad the issues are .
Maybe he is part of the issue?
He played 5 (FIVE) centre backs today…
Where was Sachdev? Does his loan contract stipulate that he can only play one game a month or summat?
If Kitching is injured, then bring Couto back for the final game but don’t play Hogan at left back.
His holding midfielder once again was McGahey - play Sheron/Hammond/Gardner there fer chrissakes.
Why was Lundstram on the bench? He contributes far more than Conlon.
He talks of an imbalanced squad yet he had the opportunity to bring in SIX of his own players - and he started ONE of them today
He has to hold his hand up and take some of the blame surely?

Something we've not really discussed is how the National League will look next season, relegations/promotions have not been very kind to us as it stands we will lose.
Chesterfield
Boreham Wood
Kidderminster
Dorking
Oxford
And one from Barnet, Bromley, Altrincham, Solihull, Gateshead and Halifax
And gaining.
Forest Green
Sutton
Tamworth
Yeovil
Plus two others, one of which is guaranteed to be a trek.
On the face of it that's horrendous and potentially even more miles to travel.
Not if you live darn sarf…

Mellon post match:
“We looked knackered”
“They’ve all got contracts for another year”
and the best one…
“I don’t understand why people don’t understand”
Plus“There’s more going on…”
“We’re imbalanced”
“ It’s what I inherited”
Etc etc
And when the interviewer asked MM why the season had fallen to pieces, he denied it, saying we had played some top teams and accused Alan of “lazy journalism”

I'd be surprised if he walks despite how despondent he sounds since he's sat on a 3yr contract. It's more a case of him backing the board into a corner which given his contract puts him in a position of relative power. Same with some of the players unfortunately. We might be paying the price for sometime.
His post match last night was very revealing imho.
He knows that he is stuck with a high number of the current underperforming squad for next season.
He knows that he needs to bring in a high number of better players next season.
He knows that, in order to bring in more than the budget will allow, he has to move on a number of the contracted players.

It's good to be reminded of how optimistic so many of us were at the start of this season...
Optimism that was severely deflated after the first game and totally wrecked by match nine. There was then a short uplift during the Redfearn/Thompson tenure rising back to previous heights after the victory at Rochdale, only to come back down to earth the very next game... a period of renewed optimism was completely wiped out by our March madness.
We are going to finish 9th or 10th after a previous season finish of 12th.
Excited for this poll next August...

Back Mellon, break the cycle that has got us here over the last 30 years. The man is proven, he is not the issue.
I'm not sure that he has proved anything this season...

Stats department!! More trendy rubbish, you need a proper scouting network and management who will actually check out recommendations.
It worked well at Nottingham Forest when I worked for Brian Clough and Peter Taylor, the likes of Gary Birtles wouldn't even be found on any stats database.
Gary Birtles joined Forest in 1982 - that’s 42 years ago!
It was a different time and things in football have changed dramatically since then…
Sadly your argument is outdated and no longer valid
- time to get real methinks

They've had no issue increasing the number of champions league games they play over the last few years. Funny that.

I watched Couto tonight he's still only 19yo and one I'd retain. Because he's at an NPL club it doesn't mean that's his level.
I don't care what league they play in its potential I look for and IMO he has it.
He’s had it for a while but he needs to show improvement to stay

^ And Mellon threw away a decent outside chance of a Wembley FA Trophy day out by putting out an understrength side against Hendon.
Norman
McGahey
Raglan
Hogan
Sutton
Ward
Willoughby
Lundstram
Gardner
Hope
Walker
with Kitching, Norwood and Conlon coming off the bench.
Having equalised in the 93rd minute, we lost to a 96th minute goal…
Understrength? Possibly, but still should have had more than enough.

Nope. But a mate of mine has been advised he needs to take his physical ticket back to the ticket office in order for the refund to be processed. Which is clearly idiotic, given the shambles.
I will wait for my reply. I’m certainly not driving a two hour round trip for the privilege of my money back.
From the official website:
"Supporters who wish to claim a refund on their match or coach ticket can do so in the following ways,.
If you have ordered online but have not collected your ticket, email supporter.services@oldhamathletic.co.uk by 4pm on Tuesday 23 April and your refund will be processed in 10 working days.
If you have already collected your ticket, please return your complete match ticket to the Latics Ticket Office by 4pm on Tuesday 23 April. The full ticket must be returned as proof of purchase.
Any refund for a coach seat must be claimed by using the email address above or in person by 4pm on Wednesday 17 April."

I've had a season ticket for 35 years and will be renewing but its fair to say that it is more in hope than expectation. I have no faith that Mellon will become the manager who leads us back to the EFL. There needs to be a lot of manoeuvering and a number of shrewd acquisitions to start with a squad that meets Mellon's "I know what good looks like" mantra.
My fear is that the financial restrictions for next season will not allow Mellon to start with the players he wants and he has shown that he cannot sufficiently motivate the standard of footballer he will have to work with.

I have decide, barring a mathematical miracle, that my next game will be our first game of next season.
Tamworth away, live on BT- should be a good turnout too

In contract (Hudson, Norman, Kitching, Hogan, Hobson, Raglan, Sutton, Shelton, Lundstram, Ward, Sheron, Hammond, Conlon, Willoughby, Nuttall, Reid, Norwood, Garner
Keep:
Hudson, Hogan, Raglan, Lundstram, Reid and Conlon.
Lose the rest.

I don't think it was bizarre. It was one of his most revealing yet. Plainly obvious he's had to bite his lip since he came in with an assessment after just two matches that there were huge problems ahead. He'd love to throw 75% of them under the bus immediately but he still has to try and get a tune out of them.
He's not without blame of course. Mistakes have been made, probably by trusting players he couldn't and who have let the club down during the season.
I'd back him to ensure we had a much leaner, much better team next season. It'll take a lot of wheeling and dealing and I don't think we'll be the finished article by any stretch. But I'd expect we'll field a side that can turn 1-0 leads into wins and matches like today into three, fairly ugly points. Man's a proven winner and not someone you'll want to underestimate to get it right in my opinion. Back him.
The best thing I took away was the “You can change the player or you can change the player”…
