We would struggle to shift 15k for Wembley, I reckon it would be about 12k.
20k would be easily achievable.

Outstanding Podcast - Andy and Matt spot on with their analysis of the game.
The team was up for it and looked far more balanced. The front two plus Lundstram were the pick of a very good starting eleven

Halifax home to Chesterfield this Wednesday
I hope that MM and GB go along too for a spying mission… -
Stats from yesterday:
Latics
10 attempts - 5 on target - 5 corners
Chesterfield
5 attempts - 2 on target - 2 corners

All nicely crammed in at the back of the Chaddy end, with road barriers fixed to the front for a particularly classy touch. Played a blinder our executives.
And apart from one or two moments, they were surprisingly quiet…

Best performance of the season so far. We did to Chesterfield, what everyone else has done to us this season at BP.
We tackled like demons, we denied them any space and when we had the ball we moved it quickly.
Lets hope we can string a few more performances like that together between now and the end of the season .
Well done lads, keep it up.

Just listened to Mellon’s pre-match… a tub-thumping, inspirational rallying cry it ain’t

Regarding Big Dog's selection I cannot see what Dallas has to offer and would not have him in the starting line up. I think Fondop would be a better foil to play alongside either Norwood or Gardner to start. Fondop and Gardner formed a good partnership while Norwood was not available.
Dallas offers direct running and, having played for Chesterfield on loan, should be up for it. His fitness when he arrived was poor but he showed glimpses at Aldershot of what he could bring to the team.
I am not a huge fan of Fondop. Granted he works hard and brings an unorthodox style to the team but his touch is average and, imho, he doesn’t have what I call ‘football intelligence’.
I’d rather have him as an impact player coming off the bench if needed.

If I was picking the team…
HudsonHobson - Raglan - Hogan
Sachdev - Conlon - Sheron - Lundstram - Kitching
Dallas - Norwood
Norman
Gardner
Hammond
Garner
Fondop
oh, and play it on the ground lads eh?

Massive game on Saturday. Biggest of the season.

It could prove to be pivotal for the rest of the season:The players go out and put in a huge performance that gives them self belief and the impetus to secure a playoff place and beyond…
The players go out and put in another woeful home performance that further knocks what little self belief is left and we limp on to mid table obscurity…

If they swan around sulking like they did at Aldershot then we'll get hammered, hopefully they'll show a bit of pride and bollocks.
If we start Norwood and Dallas upfront and they continue to hoof it up to them then serious questions should be asked of Mellon.
Think we will lose 3-0.
Anyone beginning to question whether Mellon is the right man for the job or is there another thread for this sort of question?

As for the game, I'd snatch your hand of for a draw right now. This squad always seem to bounce back after a loss and I hope that continues.

Chesterfield will be feeling the pressure a bit. They might be champions later that day with a win so we should see this as a real opportunity to go at them from the start.
I’m driving up for this one, leaving at 8:00am - we had better turn up and play some football

And Dallas to start alongside Norwood

No they don't due to the ko times they become Champions at Woking. Their last game before being crowned might be at BP but they can't win the title at BP.
But if Barnet do lose and they do beat us they will be champions at 5pm - so they will have won the title at BP
-
If Chesterfield beat us on Saturday and Barnet don’t win, then the Spireites will become National League Champions at BP - that simply must NOT happen

Furthermore, the team completely lack anyone that can attack at speed with the ball at their feet
I reckon Dallas could be the man once fit

Whats the answer to that conundrum? Stick it out and hope form picks up again to scrape the playoffs or start the transition to better football now, appeasing the fans and new recruits but likely missing the playoffs because of it. Either way, I think we will see something easier on the eye come next season, after a full pre season and summer of recruitment.
If we transition to better football, why would we miss out on the playoffs?

Chesterfield are showing the match at their ground on Saturday which could negate the danger of away supporters in home areas.

I never wanted him in the first place and said so at the time so my stance is pretty clear.
I don't think for one minute he will be.
I do have growing concerns about the people making the football related decisions.
Wow - I actually am in agreement with a @deyres42 post

In the form table…
Over the last 4 games, Oldham (16th)
Over the last 10 games Oldham (14th)
There was a lot of debate on here about the validity of ‘Form Tables’ but the plain truth is that we have got progressively worse since the end of January and, strangely, coinciding with Mellon being allowed to bring in his own players…That’s worse in results and far worse in performance on the pitch.
There has been too much tinkering with the team by the manager and too many unfit or poor players joining the squad. The players who do get out onto the pitch, are consistently letting us and themselves down.
Meanwhile certain players who may add to the squad (Hope and Reid, and possibly a certain youth player for example) are ignored or frozen out.Mellon was ‘ thoroughly pissed off’ with our latest showing - and we can but hope that he does what he is paid to do and get the players to play.
Tough ask Saturday

It's difficult I know but maybe 442 attacking;
Instructions, compete, pass, move, create, score goals.
Hudson
Sachdev
Sutton
Raglan or Hobson
Kitching
Atherton
Gardner
Conlon
Walker
Fondop
Garner or Norwood.
How anyone can pick Sutton or Hobson at centre back over Hogan completely baffles me
Playing as a centre back he has been by far the best of our back three.
Shades of how it went with Piergianni towards the end… I wonder how he’s doing now?
