no panic yet. We're still in the hunt and the next two games can see us leap frog Leicester.
Totally agree - but if we do lose the next two then I will officially hit the panic button
-
I'm surprised that the allegation is still on here from when it was posted on Friday night.
Should I post the link or is it t be removed?
I say sit tight and wait... and hope
-
You need to be patient as it's in slow motion.

They don't look any better - poor poor marking - just not tight enough - aaargh!
-
And me :S
If this is wrong - and I hope it is - then whoever started this 'rumour' should be banned for life from this board -
-
sorry i the jist of it was can shez lift the players fopr next week lol didnt realise the title i posted !!
The title was confusing but the points made were fair I think.
The Eardley pass to Liddell was sublime - that shows what he can do. I rate Eardley and would always play him.
Davies on the wing? Not for me - he is one who just seems to make the wrong choice too often - shoots when he should pass and vice versa. He should be played up front with Hughes.
Gregan - banned for three games so won't be back until Leicester at home - clash of the top two?
-
we can only guess at that as Lomax doesn't play in his preferred position!..Eardley at left back, Lomax at right...would there be masses of difference? just a thought
Eardley is 19 years old. He is a decent footballer who will improve - for me he has two areas that need working on:
His distribution - still gives the ball away too often
His positional sense - often loses his winger
For me his true position is midfield - he is fast, strong in the tackle and has a decent shot on him. Friday's game was crying out for some of that in the centre of the park.
I would continue the experiment from last season - he wasn't half bad in midfield was he?
-
think its his positioning that he needs to work on when the other team have the ball on the other flank, also he needs a bit of protection from lidds or whoever plays on the right in front of him like taylor was doing with for jones.ktf.
Eardley is destined to play midfield - I suggest that should have happened last night - it would have given us more drive and attacking options - nuff said
-
Were you watching the same game?
He was one of the few reasonable performances tonight.
Agree - just needs to work on his shooting!
-
Dangerous to go off one game but I thought Jones looked a real star in the making - great left foot, good right, fast, clever player.
Destined for greatness I feel.
-
makes me pi$$ how we lose our first game and the naysayers are out in force.......typical.
It is reality - you obviously do not go to the games or you would be in agreement -we have been poor from second half at Hartlepool onwards - last night was abysmal and it is beginning t strike home that we are no more than an average side at the moment - time to step up to the plate and start to work harder or we will just get overrun again and again.
-
yes he tweaked a hamstring again, should be back soon tho
Should be back? He has not been here yet has he? Definitely will need untl Xmas to get fit in my opinion
-
Just been on their web site to read last night's report - Howard and Fryatt are the front two (DJ Campbell and Dickov out injured) with Dyer out wide - sounds pretty tasty attack to me.
But then we have Hughes & Davies with Taylor out wide - yum yum
-
Yes because we have:
(i) enough money; and
(ii) a complete rubbish left winger.
As for Leicester, my reckoning is that Kerrea Gilbert (on loan from Arsenal) is by far and away the best player in this division at the moment.
I think the way they have adjusted, they (Leicester) are the one I would expect to finish right up there (i.e above us).
Don't they also have Jack Hobbs from Liverpool on loan? - it looks like they are getting it right - so bring 'em on I say
-
Quite true - sure he will probably be injured by friday....
...leaving him to play that badly again when he gets in the side again in 6 weeks or so...
I would like to see Davies up front - he was left out of the reserves game that was postponed tonight which suggests he will start.
If Whittaker is fit then that may be the only change - however I think we should recall that Sheridan has said in the past that it is a lot to ask of the younger players to keep playing for a full season and I would expect to see Byrne come in soon with a possible rest for Lomax.
The Hereford home game is the intriguing one with both Greegs and Eardley missing - Lomax at RB and Byrne at LB with Eardley and Greegs back for the top of the table clash the following week - then it could be Stam and Lomax to dropout... and a more experienced team coming to the fore:
Crossley, Eardley, Gregan, Hazell, Byrne, Liddell, Whittaker, Allott, Taylor, Hughes & Davies
-
Leicester win 1-0
Never mind, we will be back on top come Friday
The good thing is that sometime early next week the Leicester manager will be awarded the manager of the month for September - which means they promptly lose their next game after that... which is away at BP
-
It's about time that Colchester won their first game down on the farm - 'There's only one Scott Vernon...'
-
WE MUST BUILD A STAND!!!! HAHA

Interesting article on the Stockport web site - I wonder how much support he will get from within the game?
-
Can see around 5500 home fans with the expected 1500 poor away support> think 7000 mark is about right, Anything more is a bonus, anything less is a disgrace
Let's face it - we will be lucky to get 5,500 - Huddersfield have sold 1,000 so far - we might make 6,700 which is pish poor but at the moment we just don't seem to have captured the imagination of the less committed Oldham fan.
We should have given them the smaller section of the Rocky - but at least the Chaddy will be rocking

I always find this weather excuse amusing... does anyone on here admit they miss a game due to bad weather? Does global warming mean clubs are going to begetting attendances of 100 or so in the year 2020?
Well I must admit I don't like watching football when it's too hot - prefer a cold crisp winter's day - and then there's the wind - that really ruins a good game.
Rain is not much fun either if it's coming down hard.
Only games I miss due to bad weather are when they are called off due to fog/frozen pitch/waterlogged pitch etc
-
Ah I didn't see the bit where he was talkin about Hughes I just jumped on the Lewis bit. My comment does still stand for almost everyone commenting here as it seems so many want to just throw O'Grady in. Isn't Hughes injured? -----> Therefore Davies will play?
O'Grady & Davies - Lewis needs a spell on the bench.
-
great news lee!
though i hope reading your post they hope thats the end of the matter-because thats how they want you to feel.
i would without doubt push this to the hilt-they have ADMITTED wrongful arrest, false accusation, wrongful ejection from the ground and that he attacked you.
as already stated from the guys here, get that in writing then push this like hell...don't let them sweep it under the carpet.
hows your stress, trauma etc getting on?
Nice one Lee - p leased for ya!

Ian Marshalls goal at Barnsley in the championship winning season. How many latics fans were there that day, it was like we knew it was going to be our season.
The above post from 'cmon_oldham' is post number 1 - Diego's was to celebrate post number 7,000 - Diego - you are the man -respect
Incidentally - 7000 posts in 20 months is an average of:
350 per month
or 11 a day....
-
I see the OS says Crossley on Latics World talks about enjoying the fans' banter. Doe he refer to the temple chant?
He certainly does - and is well impressed.
Couple of Questions!

Stam and Hazell for me - I wonder if Byrne can play right back...?
