Why is there no student season ticket? I know there are 'Intermediary' tickets but i'm 21 and still at uni and fairly broke, why can't there be tickets aimed at people in full time education. The vast majority or uni students will be there at least until they are 21, so surely this should be changed. £300+ is alot of money for me when all i get is basic maintenance loan and I have to pay £845 rent in june already, i'm sure alot of others are in the same boat....
Because it is impossoible to police and too many have abused it in the past.

It might have been ultimately disappointing, it might not always have been scintillating but at times more than half the team has been made up of players who have come through the club rather than the journeymen here for a year or so before moving on never to be remembered.
I'll settle for that

I don't understand the question.
Seemed clear to me but myabe its been a long day!
At the start of next season assuming we are still in this division and someone said they could guarantee that at the end of 2008/9 we would be promoted or relegated but gave no clue as to which would you accept their offer?
-
OK, we might still make the play-offs but if we don't would you accept a guarantee at the start of next season that we would leave it at the end withou any clue as to whether that meant up or down?

Absolutely no entertainment whatsoever

Talked to him at length. Terrific bloke who took a big money cut to give pro football ago. His thoughts on Brian Talbot were particulalry "interesting".

Reminds me of my school days. I was the only one in my year that got an 'A' in Governement, Economics & Commerce - (which I must say has stood me in very good stead over the years!). They gave a prize to somebody else on the grounds that I hadn't worked hard enough during the year. Not bitter or anything 30 years on......
-
To be fair, if you're eluding to the Liverpool striker, it was they who went ahead in announcing it. The Latics merely followed their lead 20 or 30 mins later. Only for the player to renage. As for Ian Moore, he was only reported on after he'd turned us down. Don't think the Latics have done much wrong in the reporting, which is why I was utterly hacked off once the Liverpool reserve player turned us down. TBH, I just seriously can't understand that decision.....the lad's clearly going nowhere at Liverpool. Didn't do owt at Luton, was sent packing from Palace very publicly. WTF does he or his agent think he's going to do next? Suddenly find the ability to make it at Liverpool? Hope I never hear of the prat in football again!
EDIT: Seems I won't....just read in the other thread about him that he's off to play with his Wacker in Austria! Gone and now forgotten.....
PS On Vernon, can ya imagine if someone had said to you a few years back, one day Scott Vernon and Teddy Sheringham will lead the strikeforce for a team....they'd have been phoning for the men in the white coats! It's a funny owd game...good luck Scott.....keep them up please, I never want to go back to Layer Road at this level, ever again!
He's gone home to Wacker Tirol hasn't he? Fair enough

I find that very difficult to believe.
Not their football salary - their overall wages from their full time job and the footie. Cooksey was a dry liner (whatever that is) and giving that up for a short term contract on 3rd div money isn't that appealing. Pretty much impossible for a player with a mortgage and family.
-
I recommended a player, Steve Morisson, from my local side to Latics last year but unfortunately he was snapped up by Stevenage two days later. Banged in 20odd last year and he's in the teens again thie time round. Still think he will play higher. Meanwhile his replacement, Greg Pearson is into the 20s already this time round. There is a lot of talent in non-league but most of them would have to take a drop in pay to go full time at Latics level. I know for example that Cooksey saw his money cut in half when he joined Latics and there's not many that can or will do that.
-
Expect the worst -anything better is a bonus!
-
Here's the scenario. Let's his contract run down and then moves to Real Madrdi unde teh Porter/Motherweel rule meaning that neither us nor City get a bean......
-
Surely there is a role at the club for the top goalscorer?
Can't comment in detail as I don't see enough (although I've managed to see both home league wins this season) but there's no doubt he has a bility and is a goal threat. I can't see that we are in a position to ship someone like that out.

Maybe not in the top few but Paul Warhurst was a terrific signing in playing terms and financial

Some good things being said all over about our Awesome club ;)
from Toffeeweb
Make no mistake this was a justified win for Oldham. We failed to make class count; there was nothing wrong with the referee and Oldham played to their best which on the day was good enough. Compound this with the fact that their fans out-shouted and out-sang ours and you get some idea of the day.
It still amuses me that Rod Liddle in the Sunday Times (great column) gives Lee Hughes a mention for the 2nd week running!

I'll bet that was adamn site more fun with 5,000 than it would have been with "just" the diehards!

I'd be willing to put a reasonable bet on b*gger all for the foreseeable future. There's a bit of a problem in the financial world you know
