Yeah, probably briefly upset about 10 people tops and I bet they would have then been more than happy with the captain stepping in as a replacement…….

Some of you lot just want him gone and it’s a little bit weird really!

Don't know were you get that conclusion from what I have posted.

It is more bizarre that you consider it acceptable behaviour no matter how many people are involved.

    Simplified a little bit.

Do you think there's a queue of top quality midfielders and right-backs out there just waiting to sign for Oldham Athletic?

We are in Lge5-they will not be top quality (they don't have to be) but there are plenty of competent players out there capable of doing a job and giving this team the balance it lacks at the moment.

Say what you want he hasn't had alot of time at all. I think the Lemsagam era has deluded a few people to think that 6 months is a long enough period to turn tnings round 360.

We can sack him if you want but the policy of sacking the manager to win promotion currently has a 100% failure rate, when we've done it over the last 54 years. Ironically we accuse managers of not learning lessons.

Never mentioned sacking him but 6 months is more than enough time to sort out a decent RB and get a couple of midfield players in either perm or on loan. You reference under the Lemmies-well there were several decent players brought in on loan when the club was a basket case.

There is the essence of a decent side in this team but until these issues are sorted we will continue to struggle to be consistently decent.

I'm going to have faith and trust the people in charge to make the right decisions knowing full well they won't get everything right but they will be right more often than they are wrong and eventually we will get back in the football league we will get there.

Normally I would agree with this but my confidence in Mellon has been shot by the players he has brought in and his complete inability to address the gaping problems in midfield and at RB.

Say what you want-he has had plenty of time to address these issues.

Can we please talk about Harisson McGahey falling over his own feet / tripping over some mud in absolute slow motion as the ball almost crossed the line.

Reminded me of my Dad playing football for the Dad team when I was in school. Fucking shocking and sums him up. About as far away from an athlete as you could possibly imagine.

But he also blocked the follow up to stop the player scoring.

My opinion of Sheron won't change because the issues he has don't just go away, if I tell you why he didn't struggle last night I'd be accused of not giving him credit so a bit like yourself when we lose at home I don't say too much.

Here's the thing with some of the players I personally feel burden us but I'll use Sheron again as an example, some of the qualities he has would put him in at least  League 1 level, not least his character and durability, he's a team player and rarely let's us down in the sense that he will always 'do his best' he can play in a number of positions - probably across the whole back line and midfield. Now the main problem I have is how he's utilised, when he is played as a CDM he kills us at times by turning the ball over, it's a recurring theme in games we play badly in, his strengths for us are further up the pitch, pressing, competing and believe it or not his ability to join in with attack and chip in with the a very decent return in goals and assists, McGahey is similar - very solid in the role we played him last night because he's comfortable on the ball and organises but gets over run for me in defence. Shouldn't be anywhere near a start as a centrehalf unless we are absolutely desperate.

I find this a really strange post.

You say your opinion won't change on Sheron-no matter how well plays-that is a bit odd and stinks of prejudice.

You then go on using the same player as an example to castigate him for playing in CDM-well that is not for him to decide -it is the manager who decides who plays where, so again hardly McGaheys fault-he plays where he is told.

Surely the object of your criticism should be Mellon for playing players out of position.

Finally I'm happy to be proved wrong with players, good example being Hudson,

Really? The above largely contradicts this. Could have added this gem but thought I would leave it out-then again-sod it.

We are going into a game with McGahey, Sheron and Hammond as the midfield 3. Jesus Christ

Well at least he has recognized that Lundstram and Sheron doesn't work (at last) and I have no problems with Conlon not playing because all he seems to do is loft it or hoof it up to the forwards. He took the worst free kick I have seen this year at York.

Who else could he pick in midfield?

It's not a negative really, people wish he looked a bit more like we would if we were smashing them in and I get that, it's not about his ability as 99.9% can see that, we've had nothing to celebrate for a couple of decades other than relationships with managers and players so I can see why some fans are desperate for him to engage more, he could be a real cult hero at BP if he helps fire us to a promotion or two.

Couldn't give a monkeys whether he laughs, smiles or cries when he plays.

I don't get this he should play however poorly he performs, and TBH he has not performed well in his past few games. Admittedly that may be down to a hamstring injury but the bare minimum should be perform to get in the team.

We also need a direct runner from central midfield. Lundstram, Hammond and Conlon can't offer that, therein lies the problem.

We have one on the books already.

Sheron is well capable of fulfilling that role if he is allowed to and get someone else to do the more defensive role. He has 4 goals (most of them good goals) from midfield something many of you choose to forget.

When Hammond? missed late on last night it was Sheron who was in the 6yd box waiting.
