Which makes a decision to give it to Thompson till the end of the season a sensible one, he keeps it on the proviso we finish top 7 and he's backed with the four players he needs. Simple really.

    And what about Thompson?

Giving him a short term contract with proviso's is hardly an incentive when there are plenty of 2/3 year contracts knocking around with bigger clubs if he is so well thought of within football circles as some have suggested.

They had a crowd of only 3044 against Chesterfield and the capacity is 10249. Our allocation of 3100+ leaves a little over 7000.
Their seasons average is under 3000 so if they were to get 4500 which they won’t that still leaves about 2500!

The police won’t want several hundred Latics fans in the Rochdale ends.

I reckon they will either make it all ticket or give us a larger allocation, probably behind the goal.

After Chesterfield do you think any police force is going to go out of its way to accommodate Latics?

Also good to see that when we did attack we did so in numbers.

every cross that went in saw 4 or 5 latics players in & around the box.

previously the guy that crossed it would have to run in & challenge for it himself!!

It was also noticeable how after half time Kitching got forward so much more after barely crossing the half way line in first half. Think it was @yarddog73 who also mentioned how he never crossed the half way line against Oxford last week.

He is a very good crosser of the ball.

No matter what the results are over the next few games I wouldn't want it to go to ST/PM. They already have important roles in the club and given their experience and higher levels they've already been at I'd rather them stay in those positions for some long term continuity. DoF for Redfearn too?!

In the mean time they are doing a great job of pointing the team in the right direction and getting them to play higher up the pitch with more attacking intent. So we're in a great position really to have people like that running the team whilst the board can conduct a thorough interview process.

    This is an interesting comment.

You have stated what you don't want-then made a perfectly good case for giving them the job.

  5. Probably get drowned in the most recent ITK comments above, but there have been a lot of comments about Unsworth being a liar and talking rubbish about team selection. The recent no goalkeeper on the bench being an example.

So tonight the England manager after stating yesterday `it would be ridiculous' to make too many changes makes 6 changes and names 2 goalkeepers on the bench.

I said it the other week-who cares what they say any more-other than @TheBigDog

There has clearly been a big investment in the infrastructure but is it all necessary at this level and was it put together at the request of Unsworth?

So did we need new floodlights? YES

So did we need a new pitch, bear in mind there is a need to accommodate The Roughyeds. YES.

Do we need upgraded Little Wembley and provide a community facility. YES.

Does Chapel Rd need upgrading. YES.

They are trying to bring the club up to a standard that supports a club in a higher league. A legacy that needed correcting after the shit show your lot left behind.

Really do you have to try to connect this to Unsworth? Any manager would be hoping/expecting these kind of improvements-as should the fanbase.

He’s spent a season and a preseason bringing people in and getting one or two out.

    It is what managers do.

Who are the ones he wants out now?  Do you think he’s spoken to them, or are they all looking over their shoulders ?

    No idea-just like you.

He will then expect them to give their all to the team.

Why wouldn't they? They are professional footballers who deal with stuff like this every season.

For all the pre season promises we will be the fittest team in the league we look completely the opposite.

Freeman and Dickenson look miles off the pace.

Strange you highlight these 2 who actually have a reason for looking off the pace but your golden boy Sutton has been blowin for the last 10 mins + in the last 2 games yet he has age on his side.

Stick to the debate instead of coming across as a child.

Let me put this question to you then, which player has he improved on the training pitch?.

That is a bit rich coming from you. I tried to get a straight answer out of you the other night about midfield players and you did everything but provide an answer. Traffic cone springs to mind.

Or maybe Unsworth has contributed to Willoughby looking a shell of the player I remember

I bet there isn't a Latics fan on here who can remember him playing against us last year. He even scored.
