Anyone remotely showing any signs of fatigue or injuries should be rested
Fatigue-It is 2 weeks since they last played-unless you are counting the game that took place after last weeks cancellation!!

Chris McCann made his debut for 1874 Northwich v Avro last Saturday.
Well I don't expect to be playing with him but playing for 1874 walking footie today.

Paraphrasing- I took it mean, we have a big squad which has had a lot of money spent on it, a lot of players are on longer contracts so just getting rid won’t be possible. But if I really need someone the board will be back me.
He has said what just about any manager would say-basically covered all the options.

Think you have used this line previously.

Do we question whether or not the Academy is serving its purpose? Why do hardly any make it through to the first team?
Do you not think that after the turmoil of the past few years we are doing well to have a functioning academy?
These things take time to set up correctly with the right type of coaching and facilities with support from the ownership, it is not just a case of click your fingers and here's a player for the first team.

And to partner him with Norwood who despite his goals reputation looks half interested himself is a strange decision IMO.
I have said previously I cannot decide about Norwood but this is one thing I have never seen in his games for us so far.

To many are in the comfort zone in my view, and aren’t getting the best out of themselves. Their inconsistent performances tell you that.
What on earth is this comfort zone you keep harping on about? Is it a nightclub?

The other point I was going to make is that I am struggling to figure out who is the best option to play alongside him?
So have 3 managers.
The last option is Willoughby who barely gets a look in these days.

Did you go to fylde ?
No but I watched it on TV. Did you go to Rochdale? Alty at home wasn't bad either.

Their ability to turn up one week and not the next suggests otherwise.
How does that suggest otherwise?
Not been paid this week lads because you are paid monthly, don't worry pay day is in 2 weeks time so expect a good performance then.

but to many are in the comfort zone picking up good money.
This is a proper football cliche/trope-generally gets wheeled out when a team isn't performing. It is impossible to prove.

Couldn’t agree more on Fondop, I still find it odd to leave him out . He was scoring goals in a very poor team last year. He harangues the opposition, can win a header unlike Nuttall. He’s not great obviously but who is amongst this lot? A few matches recently I think he’d have added something positive late on. It surprises me this isn’t considered.
nounplural noun: harangues -

Lost a lot a credibility with me starting Nuttall and Dickenson who he must have known shouldn't have even been considered.
I'd sooner play 17yo Alfie Atherton on the wing than any of this bunch.
Bedides bags of ability at least he shows some dynamism.
Wouldn't surprise me though if he's never even trained with the first team.
Rochdale played a 17yo against us who looks a great prospect.
As usual managed to turn the discussion into why aren't we playing youngsters-sorry 'my youngster'?
That 17yr old you keep harping on about had nothing to mark for most of the game as we only played Norwood up front-I would have looked good strolling around and trying to play hollywood passes when nobody tries to close you down. Remind me, how many goals did Rochdale ship that day?

Well any manager worth his salt should find at least 4 better players immediately.
Let's see if he does.
Dipping into this bottomless pot of money again that you seem to think exists at Boundary Park?
Even signing loanees means you are paying good money out to players who are not being picked.

Don’t rugby union referees wear mics which are connected to what gets broadcasted ? Hence we can hear the ref when they are explaining a penalty in rugby to the players.
That would naturally put them all off abusing the ref.
I struggle to believe that the population of rugby players as a whole are more respectful than the population of footballers.
I would be happy to see that trialled in the PL-don't think it would make a damn bit of difference to them. Self opinionated cheats the lot of them.(not just the PL).
As for your last point-well I watched several of the world cup games and the difference between the 2 sports is remarkable.
Anyway enough of this on the Norwood thread.

It’s the whole rugby players don’t react like that when they get tackled argument that gets me.
i wouldn't highlight that part of it.
For me it is their reaction to decisions-I only watch international rugby but what struck me is how they just get on with the game no matter how controversial or important the decision is. None of this surrounding the ref, contesting decisions or pleading innocence we have to put up with in footie.
What tees me off in football is punditry that refuses to acknowledge blatant cheating.

There are many things that annoy me about Rugby Union but one of them is most certainly their adoption of the moral high ground.
You mean because they occupy it compared to footie?

Whether they deserve respect or not constant whinging gets a booking or worse.
It's not a very professional attitude, more schoolboy than experienced pro.
Wonder if any of you watched the recent Rugby Union World Cup?
What a difference in how the players conduct themselves and their attitude to referees. Christ when I see some of those tackles and compare to how footballers react!!!
-
The ref had a word with McGahey in the first and asked him to tell Norwood to pipe down or be booked.

I don’t care who our manager is, you can’t polish a turd and we’re at least 5 players short!
Mellon has a massive job on his hands.
Disagree.
A new central midfield player and find one of our strikers who can form a partnership with Norwood.
Hardly a massive job.

there is a video online… looked like nothing. He still handled it. Deliberate or not.
Another Nuttall no show-Reid did more in 10 mins than Nuttall did for 60 mins. He really is one disappointing forward-looks the part, big strong lad, mobile but dear me he has no idea of positioning or timing and lacks any type of physical presence.
What a breath of fresh air (after 15 mins) to have a RB who can pass a ball to a blue shirt. No coincidence that Green (despite other comments) had one of his better games.
Could Reid be tried out wide instead of Green he looks quick?
Sheron and Lundstram if we can get a better CM will do a good job for us as. Stephen Warnock said today of a PL player all teams need a piano carrier.
Much better balance in the team today-need to find the right partner for Norwood now.

He tried for a start and looks to run the channels and get behind.

t's the runabout effect. Fondop has it so is given more leeway. Nuttall doesn't runabout enough so therefore people feel they can say he has a lazy attitude despite not knowing him at all.
That is just tosh. It is more about the threat they pose and simply put Nuttall doesn't look a threat-never really has done for me.
Norwood although not scoring a lot still looks a threat. Fondop the same.
What he did last season has no relevance on how he is playing this season. @Guy Branston Pickle keeps harking back to the Aldershot game where he made him MOM I think, as I said at the time he never looked like scoring that game and hasn't done since and now rightly he cannot even make the match day squad.
-
There has surely got to be a half decent RB we can get on loan and at least solve this RB problem for a month or so to let Mellon sort it out.
Got to rest Sutton tomorrow.

Education? There can't be a single anywhere near literate person who thinks it's fine to go on the pitch!
That is pretty damning of Oldham's literacy levels then.
Half way point....
